Inspiration needed - job interview

I've applied for promotion and while I don't have an interview yet, my manager is quietly confident and warned me I should be ready as the company is planning a quick hiring process. I work in an office with a business attire dress code.

I'd like a new outfit just for that confidence it'll give but I'm struggling. I have the shoes already (see picture) and I'm going through a phase where I am loving skirts.

Here's the problem, I'm 5ft and overweight. I'm a UK 18/20 depending on where I shop. I carry a lot of my weight in my belly and boobs. I have a little bit of a waist but when sitting, my stomach just rolls up like I'm a Chinese Shar-Pei and my waist disappears.

I recently found a skirt, got it home, tried it on and loved it from the front. I then turned to the side and I looked pregnant with twins.It was a complete mood killer.

What's prompted my post is that I spend the evening online shopping pretty much looking anywhere for something that would work and so far I've struck out. I could really do with some ideas.

One final thing is that I'm limited to companies that ship from within the UK because if my manager is right, I don't have time for anything coming from abroad.

I did a google search for plus sized clothing in the UK and found "simply be". Not sure if you want to buy online or not. ? I'm plus-sized as well, so I understand the issues.

I liked this a lot (the way it is styled with a patterned flowy top and where it sits on the model's waist could be flattering on you):

If it were me, I would go with a flowy vneck sleeveless shell in a color I love. Flowy because it skims and doesn't stick to my middle or the girls, then I'd wear a pair of pants and classic shoes. I'd add a topper of a suit jacket or a longer cardigan.

So it turns out the company is planning a really quick hiring process as interviews start tomorrow - argh!

I found, on eBay of all places, a wrap dress I loved and a seller doing offers on multiple purchases. They had a midi skirt I liked which I could team with a basic bodysuit they also sell and then I have a crop blazer that would finish it off. Why I didn't think of eBay in the first place, I don't know. It would have saved a lot of stress.

I've put together a decent pencil skirt and blouse combo (similar to the second link) from things I already own just to be ready in case I get the call.

Good luck! Sounds like you found a good solution. I find short- notice shopping very stressful- you are managing it well!

My suggestion would be a pantsuit, especially a black pantsuit. That is the ultimate business attire. You seem to be self-conscious in a skirt, so the pants should eliminate the distraction.

I hope you do well. Let us know what you wear and how it goes.

People have already been interviewed but my interview is middle of next week. I'm deep into interview prep right now. Figured crossed something out of what I've ordered arrives.

Worse case I have an outfit ready to go.

Column of colour with everything working to make strong focus in your face - how about tunic and pointe pants in the same colour (navy, black?) with a long oblong scarf tied loosely and left hanging. Make sure the scarf matches your eyes perfectly. Be confident about your hairstyle, in my book that's at least half of what makes any outfit a great one.

I love the shoes you linked and can see them working with numerous options. Where are they from?
