I am in search of an ink blue tee that is longish (hits comfortably at the hips for a long torsoed gal).

Has anyone spotted any? Or seen the ones below to know how dark they are?

I just saw on Janet's thread, Angie saying her clients tend to favour the Gap tees. I had/have quite a few Gap tees myself, but I'm moving away from fitted, plain cotton tees...

I buy the Gap Supersoft V-necks to sleep in because they are very comfy. I have two in navy and I would say they are a true navy.....not a very dark navy that gets confused with black.

What rachylou said. I don't have a replacement yet really - I've been switching to something other than these types of tees, usually looking for a banded bottom or some other silhouette.

My ink blue tee is probably not good -- for one, it was super pricey (even on sale -- it was in a crazy lemming moment that I purchased, since tees are not a mainstay of my wardrobe); and also, it has a high boat or envelope style neck which I don't think you would want. But. Having said that -- it is brilliant. Drapey, soft, warm(ish) and versatile. Again, I don't wear tees much at all but when I do, this does the job and then some. And I expect to have it for many years.

My Keaton Row stylist found this for me, but I haven't received it yet so I don't know how dark it is or how thick/delicate the fabrication. It looks yummy slouchy, though. Have fun with the search!

What about Chico's? This chain recently came to Canada and I was surprised to find that it's not all glitzy resort wear for the woman " of a certain age". I bought 2 pairs of slim legged cords and the quality is excellent and no sequins in sight :-). The online site shows some good looking basic tees - you might be lucky here. Sizes run large though I think.

The GAP ones are my favorite. That said, this year they ran snugger and longer than years' past and the fabric is thicker, so I personally sized up. The non-navy and non-black color ways were lighter and more muted than the website pics. If you want ink, I would pick the navy rather than the teal blue.

Hi Thistle, I second Elly's comments - I love Gap t-shirts, they are super-comfy, wash amazingly well, and the price is right, too. I have a few navy ones, I don't know that they are QUITE dark enough to be called ink, but they are certainly a dark navy. Worth a try?

The Vince top arrived, Thistle. It is a beautiful color; it's not as thin as "tissue thin" but pretty thin and drapey. (which I don't usually prefer, myself, but this color is a keeper.) And LONG! I'm 5'8" and average to long torsoed, and it hits me just below the jeans zipper in front and completely covers the backside when standing. Vince runs a little large for me, and their sizing can be inconsistent. I bought this in a M and it fits true to size - for Vince.

I like the Gap super soft tees, too, but they do run a size small, plus they shrink a bit in the wash. Size up, particularly if you have a long torso or larger bust.

Another vote for Everlane here. I have a two different tee styles in navy and I wear them both regularly.
