inexpensive tall boots?

I would like to find some tall wedge boots that are winter hardy and ofcourse stylish.
I am looking in the $50-$100 range.
Can anyone reccomend a good brand to look at or even a particular boot?

Have you looked at Nine West? Mine are not wedge but they were very reasonable for an all leather boot.

Not a particular brand, but watch the daily specials at 6pm.com. I got my leather Red Wing boots there for $30- and I love them!

I don't normally shop at Target for boots or shoes, but I found a pair there last year for around $40. They're tall suede boots that I can wear slouched or pulled up. I'm picky about shoes, but they're comfortable and have held up well (I'm on my second winter).

I don't know the particular style you like, but they do have a pair of tall wedge boots for around $35! Target.com has a better selection than they do in stores, so you have to read the reviews and take a chance on the shipping cost.

DebbieK, I had not thought of Nine West but I will check that out. We used to have a store in our closest mall and I always liked to browse there. I don't know if it's still there but I will watch online either way.
Garmenta, thank you for all of the suggestions! I had not considered suede, they just aren't familiar to me. I imagine there is a way to protect them in the snow? Just having those websites to check out was helpful too.

I'm looking for a relatively short wedge based on Angie's suggestions for petites. I also feel like wedges will give me more security when I encounter icy walks during the winter and stability for when I need to chase after a child! I was thinking black leather but I will look at suede too.
I had some zip up tall boots for a few years from payless and I loved how they were snug (in a good way) around my calves. Unfortunately the chunky heel was very high and killed my feet.
School and preschool starts next week so hopefully I can get out to the mall!
I was in TJMaxx today with 3 of my kids and they were trying on fancy hats while I was looking at gloves and scarves!
I've figured out over the years that I have a 3 hour time limit in which to get out and get back home for running errands before at least one of our bunch runs out of speed. I think when I'm really searching for something that time limit dwindles significantly! Not a complaint...just wondered if others who have shopped with children have put expiration times on their excursions as well!
