I was going to suggest a slightly different neutral, one that has more warmth to it (like a caramel or a warm tan, which I'm thinking would look fab with your skin tone if you are going for a low-contrast thang) vs. this taupe-y gray. But the style is sure cute!

I just bought these! I wanted a neutral color that wasn't brown. I was thinking they'll look good with all the various plum/violet/purple tops I have. Very comfy, and for some reason they make my big 8 1/2 size feet look rather dainty.

I'm late to this conversation, but I think they're a sweet shoe, and Clarks are super comfie - model them when they arrive, so we can see how the color works with your skin tone.

I'm still voting against nude sandals for your wardrobe, although these are nice shoes. May I suggest something nude that's more closed and therefore more versatile in your neck of the woods where it barely reaches 70/75 degrees.

Angie, I don't know what part of Alaska she is in, but I do know it can get quite hot there in the summer months when there is 24 hours of sunshine. I worked in the Yukon (province next-door to Alaska) one summer and it got up to 27C /80ishF and that lasted about 2 months. That is 2 good months of sandal use, provided she doesn't have a lot of other sandals.

So, Alaskagirl (I think your name is Una but I'm not sure), how many sandals do you have? Is a closed-toe shoe necessary this time?

I rarely wear sandals because I am such a boot gal, but I would say we have the same sandal season as Seattle - May/June through September, depending on the courage of the wearer. I've seen so many great looks with sandals here that I am feeling the urge to branch out! Also, at a sunny 60 degrees today, I was out doing yardwork in flip-flops.

These are already on the way but can be returned. I am not generally a wearer of pumps and I do have my Tsubo Acreas for high heels . Angie, do you have a suggestion for a closed shoe style that would be versatile enough for summer skirts but still wearable in our one other season?

Yeah, I would totally go for the Miz Mooz shoes if I needed another pair of closed-toed slingbacks. They are beautiful!

Una, my similar pair of shoes are these Fidjis (my major splurge from Spring 2010.) They do not come in nude, but I kind of treat the yellow pair like a nude shoe, if that makes sense. And they are utterly comfortable. (But the price is higher than the Miz Mooz pair for sure.)

Kari, I love those Fidjis! In fact, I tried them on at our local fashionable shoe store last year. Sadly (or fortunately!) they do not come in sizes smaller than 6, and the 6 was a little big on me.

The MM are lovely - I considered those but wasn't sure if the heel was too casual. I should see if my Nordie's has them, because I have some Nordstrom bucks or whatever they are called....
