In the Trenches...

Still searching for my perfect trench... can you help me figure out which of these styles looks best on me & why?
(All tried over the last few months & returned.)

1 - Calvin Klein
2 - J. Crew Icon
3 - Banana Republic
4 - Single Breasted Michael Kors (don't know why I buckled - I prefer to tie!)

Hmmm, I think I like 3 best, or maybe 1, but it's hard to see the fit in #1 because of the pose. I prefer the pinky-toned beiges to the yellow-toned beige of #2. I don't like how #4 fits in the bust, and the single breasted cut feels off for some reason... it's not quite that classic trench cut... hm, and do I want to say it feels a bit retro, which doesn't seem to fit with your style?

I like #1 best for fit - I like that the buttons are closer together, and I really like the length. I'm just not sure about the color.
#2 was the best quality, but I think it's a little long.
#3 is "eh" to me - the details just aren't as great as #2, and I worry the color might be too light.
#4 is my least favorite for fit and style. That one went right back!
I'm thinking I might just wait until next year, since the rainy season is almost over in LA.

I like the second one the best. It looks sleek and I like that the buttons are closer together, the length and the not so wide collar. It looks a little on the yellow side though. Not sure if that is good or bad.

I like #2 the best too, and I like it a lot. I don't see that it's too long - you look really long-legged in #2 - but maybe you think it's too long for practical rather than aesthetic reasons?

You might try Yoox, if you aren't exhausted by the hunt yet. if you filter by full length jackets they have a lot of options and a lot on sale too.

Just on an instantaneous assessment, I liked 3 best, but it's hard to say why. Helpful, eh? Maybe the length just seemed "righter." 4 was my least favorite.

I like #3 best - it seems to have a "crisper" fit , for lack of a better term. Unfortunately I have a bit of a poisoned eye for beige trenches though - I find it such a hard colour to wear well.

I immediately ruled out #4. I would say it is between 2 and 3, but each has some advantages....hard to say from just these pics. In other words, I am no help at all.

Funny, I liked the further apart buttons of #3 and you like the closer together buttons of #1. I think both 1 & 3 look quite nice.

I think you need to watch that the lapels aren't too wide and that a straighter shape (as posed to flaring out on the bottom) suits your style better. I like 2 on you the best, but I can't see the lapels.

My preference is number two by a mile. I love the shape of that coat and it is super flattering on you. My only concern on that one is the colour, but I can't see here how it plays with your skin tone.

I am trench impaired, but I'm watching with interest. I noticed Angie really likes #1 and i wonder if what bottoms you wear most frequently has anything to do with it? That one really does look best with your bootcuts, but if you wore dresses would a longer length be better? I'm at a loss.

I like the fit of #1 and #2 best, but prefer the color of #1, so #1 gets my vote!
