Hi Fab Ones

Looking to add a new coat and maybe a jacket this winter.

What do you think of this lightweight "coat". Coat is for fashion not warmth:).

This could be layered under for warmth or worn with simple light sleeveless top for leaving on in the office.

What do you think??

Well, I like it. I was wondering if you'd mix it with other whites, mixing bright whites with cream (this appears cream background on my screen) or mainly black but it will work either way.

Looks totally you, Debs. I love it! Beautiful statement item.

Before I tell you to rush to the cash, what's it made of? Can you care for it easily enough? And do you have other styling ideas? (Knowing you, I know the answer is a resounding yes!!)

A more sensible woman than yours truly might question whether this item would outlive its welcome, if you know what I mean, i.e. will you tire of it because it is such a statement? Hmm. Maybe -- but I suspect your CPW would already be low at that point (assuming it happens) because 1). it goes with everything in your closet and can be dressed up or down; 2). it is cross seasonal in your climate; 3). it is a timeless unique piece that could be passed along easily in the event you did want to move to something different.

It looks great on you! It's the kind of lightweight coat you can get a lot of wear out of in a mild winter or throughout the fall and spring. And I can see it working as an indoor topper as you suggest, too. You could wear it over a dress or pants or leggings or jeans--fun!
I like the message on the mirror: "Be your own kind of beautiful!"

FWIW, I'm going to be a party pooper and advise to keep looking. Although it has that bit of "arty," it takes away from your fluid edgyness that you do so well. Sorry.

I think this coat is beautiful on you, and love how in your photo we can see the back of the jacket and how the colours work so well with your hair. In Australia we don't really need warm coats, so a fashion one like this is far more practical.

Just wanted to add that I think this coat -- if you love it and decide to keep -- can function similarly to my patterned coat I got last fall (see Find). I wear it with a single light layer as an outfit completer, and also layered with heavier pieces as more of an outerwear piece. For a statement piece, I've found it surprisingly versatile. I could see this coat working the same way for you.

It looks off-white in the picture but I see that it is actually white on the website, so it is thumbs-up from me.
I wasn't sure about the warmer shade with your cool colouring at first.
It would be a lovely fabric to wear even when you are at work, and the pattern will play well with your black and white solid pieces.

Thanks so much for the feedback everyone.

I'm finding myself to be a little indecisive at the moment so I have left it for now. I may lay by it on Monday tho. I like it a lot, and I do think it works with my style, and it's fun to have some pieces that still express my preferred aesthetic but are not all black:).

BTW Suz, I need you when I shop :). The beauty of this coat (it's called the Jacquard Winder Coat) is that it's a stretch knit jacquard, is machine washable (!) and no ironing required:). My biggest question will definitely be would I get bored with the pattern? Once I would have but I think I make much better choices these days and am understanding better what has longevity in my closet xx
