In search of cognac booties with close ankle fit

I've become obsessed with finding cognac booties that fit close to the ankle. I have Report Marks booties in tan, a pair of close-fitting black booties, and I'm pretty sure (hehe!) a pair of cognac booties would make my bootie collection complete.....but every pair of cognac booties I try on seem to have gaps.

I love those Rag& Bone ones (see also modgirl's K/R for same style in black), but they are awfully expensive. I got this Vince Camuto knock-off version in the black, and they're great.
For the cognac, the color may be a little different and there is more distressing/ darkening at the heel and toe, but the style is otherwise virtually identical.

We can hunt together! I am looking for cognac boots as well but a lower heel. I think I just fell in love with the frye ones Elle posted. Frye won't deliver here so my search will have to continue.

Glory, I tried on these Madewell booties yesterday in the store. I'm still considering. They looked fabulous, but there was still some gap at the ankle:

Nancy, mine aren't cognac, but more a taupe (heh heh) so perhaps not what you are after...but the ankle fit is great.

Suz, I love the fit of those DV booties on you...but you're right about the taupe. It's more your color. Wish they came in cognac.

Ariadne, I'd prefer a bit of a heel since I want to wear them with skirts, dresses, and pants.

Mochi, I LOVE those Frye harness boots but they're a little too Western for me. I have several pair of boots with a cowboy vibe, and I'm trying to get away from that look.

I thought that might be the case--you're in search of something more sophisticated. It might help to do a search at shopping gateways like shopstyle, shopbop or even just google cognac booties. I'm sure the perfect, affordable bootie is out there!
