The Keen water shoes that worked well last year failed this year. I developed huge blisters on the bottom and lateral aspects of both heels when I was on the beach! OUCH! I couldn’t walk well for two days until the blisters receded. The blisters surprised me! I have run many marathons without developing a single blister....... I am careful about the fit and breaking in of my shoes. On a typical vacation day I log a minimum of 10-12 miles. I prefer water shoes because there can be sharp edged shells, sticks, jelly fish and sadly, the occasional piece of broken glass or rare fishing hook and lure. Perhaps the straps stretched making them too loose on my heels, which are narrow and skinnier than the rest of my foot. If so, the Keens were only good for one season, and probably not a great investment. Has anyone else had this problem? Any recommendations for durable well fitting water shoes for someone with a high arch, medium bordering on narrow width foot, and narrow heels?
