It appeared on the last Pedro Almodovar film (not worth watching, btw). I fell in love right away. Any clues as to how find the maker of a film-dress?

Yes, it is very similar. Seems to me you could get this version made from any seamstress since you have one that fits you already. I have had my seamstress remake a par of slacks and it was exactly like the original just in different material

What is the film called?

You can got to IMDB and search for the costume designer info, but I'm sure this film has its official page as well and some details can be there too.

You are right, it is very similar to the dress from the other thread. You obviously like this style and in your climate I'm sure it can be worn a lot.

It's Los Amantes Pasajeros. I've checked their website and there's the name of the person in charge of the clothing, but no clue regarding the brands. Davidelfin designed the outfit for the main characters but not that dress! (not that I could afford a Davidelfin design anyways lol).

Having it made for me is a good idea but a big costly, and I'm on a tight budget. I will check the new offers in stores for summer 2013 I have to still see how to wear that skirt without flashing the world when the wind blows (it sits really high on the waist and it's still short), I think I'll get a tight fitted skirt to do the job of covering.

Honestly, it is very, very similar to the dress you have. I second seeing if a seamstress could make it for you. I think the toughest thing will be finding a similar pattern.

Cute dress! I am sorry to hear that the movie wasn't good. We have tickets to see it at the upcoming film festival. We will have a girls' night out though, so I am sure it will be a good laugh and great times with a couple of cocktails.:)

I suggest looking at Bettie Page clothing, and Bernie Dexter clothing. I don't think either made this specific dress, but I have seen them bring out very similar designs and color palettes again and again over the past several years.

I would also check Anthropologie, both their site, and on eBay.

I like the dress you've featured, but I really adore the Prabal Gurung!

The dress is similar to the one you have, but the movie dress is brighter. It's a gorgeous dress and you obviously like this style. I think a seamstress would be able to make a similar copy. Or how about checking Anthropology or Oasis?

This dress is very similar to what you have, however with no ruching and the back straps are crossed. I think you could easily find a pattern and make this.
