Falling in love with this Alice and Olivia linen jacket. It's long, which I love, and classic but with a twist. It's not totally photographing well. It fits really well, although the front is somewhat loose. Feels really versatile - jeans as well as the Claire Underwood dress. For the item, quite reasonably priced. And fully lined.
What say you?

Adding the pic from the Neiman Marcus website. DUH. But the SA never even adjusted the jacket? Maybe it can be worn both ways? Must try again at home.

I like it. I have an urge to roll up the sleeves, but other than that - I can only imagine how useful this would be. Is it blue , or gray? Or what? Can't quite tell.

It's a pale blue/grey linen blend, almost like a chambray. I might push the sleeves up or do a cuff but I also like to wear my sleeves long (unlike a lot of people here, I know).

Did you try on a smaller size? I'd like to see that for comparison. The shoulder placement on this one looks perfect, though, so I think you're good to go. It's a beautiful jacket!

I love the color. My only hesitation is that it looks a little large from the side view but that just may be the drape that needs to be seen in motion. Other than that I think it's great!

Thanks all. Karie, this is definitely the right size - shoulders, etc. - could not go smaller. But the arms are on the long side (yes, Lisa!!) so may need to cuff or shorten. I have taken it with me to try at home and will post fully styled for more feedback. Also, I think you are right, AviaMariah - I think there is an in-motion element that is not translating well to photos. Stay tuned!

Beautiful style and color! I love finding lighter-weight jackets.
Does the amount of shoulder pad and overhang bother you? I'm very sensitive to that but also can never figure out how much is "okay" because perfectly sized and placed shoulder pads are a HEWI for me.
Also is kind of a movment thing, so can't be perfect in every single position, and more visible in light colors and fabrics.

Unfrumped, I'll be attentive to the shoulder pad thing when I check at home. When I tried it on, the shoulders felt like they fit well but with an intentionally pronounced sharper shoulder pad, which I kind of liked. I will have to check. There's a lot about this jacket which is borderline avant garde, especially for me, but it's what made me sort of attracted to it because it has classic bones. But we will see if it works with my wardrobe. If not, it's easily returned (dept store).

I like the simple neckline. If there are shoulder pads, I like them.
Seems like it would be useful for summer because summer is about easy. This piece looks easy.

What a gorgeous piece! I have a traditionally shaped unlined chambray jacket from -------- Target that I love and wear constantly. It cannot hold a candle to yours in elegance, but I can definitely tell you that I won't be without a chambray again! So versatile.

I like the collar both ways, btw.

I love that this jacket can be worn either way. Given the collar, it is not intuitive that it should be worn with the lapels turned down, and I like it both ways. I think it is a great buy.
