I have the MyHabit app on my phone and I browse there all the time, but haven't ever bought anything. My experience with other flash-sale sites hasn't been great (I'm looking at you, Fab.com!) because though both the items for sale and the prices are great, stuff always takes forever just to ship. Good to know MyHabit is different, as I would expect from an Amazon division.
I'm so ambivalent about Amazon. On the one hand, they're a local company (headquartered here in Seattle) and some of my dearest friends work there. Some of them love it, some of them, uh, ... don't. The selection, service, and shipping speed can't be beat. I have bought all kinds of stuff from there: books (of course), weekly groceries, shoes and clothes, flat-screen TVs, cosmetics, movies, Kindle books, downloadable music. Name it and I've probably bought it from Amazon at some point. One year I did all my Christmas shopping there because I had no time to go to brick-and-mortar stores, and Amazon let me organize and keep track of my gift lists and purchases in one place. Even though I didn't place most of my gift orders until less than 2 weeks before Christmas, everything was delivered to us and to relatives all over North America on time. So I kinda really love Amazon.
On the other hand, I don't shop at stores like Walmart because I don't like their business practices, and now it looks like Amazon has gone in that "crush the competition at any cost, and treat your lower-wage employees like crap" direction. What to do, what to do?
