So, from time to time I try on leather items including tops or vests. For awhile T- style tops were not uncommon( including faux) , and I thought I might actually wear something likd that IRL. But nothing clicked.
Recently came across a sleeveless black leather top at WHBM that is just dreamy. NoFind yet because phone Finds doesn't seem to work and online its in light blue, no black photo.
Princess seaming, back zip, ponte side panels, buttery leather , and a tailored sort of peplum, not poofy, all click to
make great fit. The qualities of the leather material make it less dark black, if that makes sense.
So I'm there channeling my inner Brunhilda (except maybe need another icon, after reading sbout her!) , because at heart I love me some fitted seamed tops ( which to me are quite different from tight stretchy fits).
But-- sleeveless leather is seasonally confused, right? and I don't usually wear sleeveless, though there are times I think, Go Sleeveless Boldly or Go Home. Why limit to ladylike wedding shower dresses. And one reviewer described wearing it with a bold cardigan. Could I do that , I wonder? I'm not sure I could parlay it into a vest as well, which would extend wear, as it may be too tailored for that.
So, it might not pass the home mirror test even for Fantasy Island- it might be too trim for my pear proportions, or too short. But I've thought about bringing it home and trying it out.
Meanwhile, Anna shows those great hiking photos and I know my more realistic style fantasy should involve travel and more exercise.
Or maybe both?
Please chime in with any anecdotes and wisdom re: fantasy vs. serendipitous wildcard items.
Pass the barbecue, please.
