Gigi, you phrased what I was thinking perfectly.

Good for you Maneera! Not buying things you (might)(assuming it fits!) really love is just stressful. I'm still kicking myself for letting a blouse slip through my fingers a year or two ago... thought I'd think about it over lunch, and when I returned it was gone. GRR!

I had the same panic on SYC last month. I broke it for an item I loved, that I had been seeking for awhile, and have absolutely no regrets. I'm sure you'll love the dress and the very fact that you did stop and think about it means SYC is having a positive effect.

I love your husband's response. (-: you'll have to model it for us!

Beautiful dress! Clapping hands for you!:-)

So glad you went ahead with it, Maneera! A not-black dress like this is very useful, I find. Simply by virtue of not being black, it can look slightly less formal, and so works well for occasions when people will be wearing a range of casual-to-dressy clothing (a situation which seems to happen more often these days.) I'm sure that both the silhouette and color will be gorgeous on you.

Dee- I thought of you in that torn panicky moment! I remember reading your post where you bought those awesome shoes while doing SYC June! I'm glad I gave in too.... Gonna have my dress tomorrow!

Tulle, thanks a ton. Yes, I'm sure this dress is made for ME

Thanks Jenava - my husband and I have a simple theory - if you love it and can afford it, buy it. Life's too short to live with regrets....especially this trivial

As you can all see....I can BARELY contain my excitement for this one (thanks for clapping with me Lyn!)

Fun thing- I actually was looking for the dress at Mango official site. And while they HAD the dress, I didn't notice it at all while browsing! Why- the model wearing it looks so pathetically frail, I want to buy her some food...not the dress She made the dress look terrible! Had I seen THAT first, I don't think I would have loved this dress so much!

Pic #1 & 2 is Mango's model. Would you buy that dress??? Pic #3 is an Indian model wearing the dress....and she looks far better! Don't you think?

I really think this dress is made for curves (or so I want to believe right now). And I have more than enough curves to fill it out nicely

Yes, some clothes do not look great on the hanger--or on a model built like a hanger!
