I'm supposed to be on SYC but...

I "accidently" came across this dress on ebay: http://bit.ly/flmsIC

and i'm thinking about falling off the wagon...except i've already fallen off twice so far. The most tempting things always pop up when you're trying to be good.

What do you think? Resist temptation or give in?

Oh wow! That is such a cute dress! I love the lace on the sleeves ... I'm a huge advocate for falling off the wagon for this item!

I do see this on you and it looks very cute! Ebay one-of-a-kinds are hard to pass up. You could just set a certain $$ limit and stay there and if it's meant to be . . . but then again it already has 4 bids on it. . . hmmm. . .

Revisit your reasons for SYC, and see how they apply. There's no reason to be militant about it, just be reasonable!

Adorable! Did you have a chance to check Delightfully Tacky? Again, this seems right up her alley style-wise. I'm off the wagon myself (sad, with just three days to go),so I get the need to buy now and then.

I think the dress is really cute - but, whether or not you should fall off of SYC wagon depends solely on the reasons that you decided to do SYC in the first place. For some, it was financial reasons, for some it was learning to be creative with what they already had, for some it was learning to practice self-control, for some it was to become more organized and purposeful about their spending, etc. etc. - so, just evaluate why you were SYC in the first place and then go from there!

I would start by doing an audit of your closet. Do you have other summer dresses for your warm weather "capsule?" Where would you wear it? If you see it getting alot of use and you don't have alot of warm weather clothes, I think it's an adorable find and you can really have some fun with it. Sorry, I am not very good at SYC.... I have a hard time finding things that both fit and flatter... if I find something that is so me and priced like this I would find it difficult to say no.

It's really cheap, but start to think if you really need a dress. If you have too many summer dresses already pass!

Una - I looked at it briefly because I was working on getting off the computer but i book marked it. Very interested though! Recently i've decided i want to mix thrift and vintage pieces into my wardrobe to and it seems like this is what she does. I'm going to check it out more today for sure.

The main reason i went on SYC (til April 9th, not a very long one i know) is because I am doing a vintage store shopping trip in Minneapolis with a friend on April 9th so i was trying not to buy anything until then. But another part of me is saying, "what if you don't find anything as good as this and you pass it up?" The 2nd thing that's holding me back is my spring and summer wardrobe consists of A LOT of dresses. I've been trying things this year that can be mix and matched more...but at the heart of me, i'm a dress girl.

I think i'll do what Sara suggests and set a price limit for myself. This seller has a ton of cute vintage pieces @ great prices btw! A lot of people must know about her because most of her stuff already has lots of bids :\
