I'm new--help with body type?

Are those shorts baggy on you? I think they are throwing me off as far as your body shape goes because I can't see your hips. Do you wear a different size on top than on bottom?

I am not sure that I'd say you have broad shoulders. You look pretty proportionate to me. I see a definite indent of your waist. I'm just not clear on the hips. Do you have a pair of tighter fitting jeans that you could wear with that cami? Or maybe take some measurements?

Right now I'd say you look hourglass, but you say you have narrow hips. You could be an hourglass with a tendency toward inverted triangle.

I agree with Nicole, your hips are not bigger than your shoulders, are they smaller than your shoulders? You definetly have a waist.

Hi! Thanks for the input. Yeah, the shorts are a little too big. I am at work now (obviously paying no attention to work! ha ha), but I can post with tighter bottoms later on. Also, yes, I do wear a different size on the bottom than on top. I am like a 14 dress, but I wear 10 or 12 long in jeans. The shorts in the picture are 14s, but I wear them a lot because I like how they make me look, well, like I have more hips! =)

I’m afraid I can’t tell for sure. Ideally, I need to see you in jeans with your arms down. I cannot judge the width of your shoulders with respect to your hips when your hands are on your hips. But for the mean time, I’m going with inverted triangle.

Hmm...based on the first photo, I'd say inverted triangle that tends toward an hourglass. Do you also have a short waist, Shannon?

Hmm. When I buy shirts I buy L if they're regular, XL if they're button-down. I am guessing my formal shirt size is somewhere from a 14 to 16. My clothes are pretty informal! But it's really hard to find nice shirts that fit right because I have a big bust and long arms; almost everything has sleeves that are too short.

And yes, I have a short waist and long legs--I need a 36 inch inseam. Gap online has jeans that come in long and extra long lengths.
