I had to go back to this blog post (http://youlookfab.com/2012/03/.....ow-skirts/) re-reading my comment, and yup, I really didn't like this high-low skirt hem concept back in March, and said "not for me". Well, it goes to show that I'm open to change, and I know it always makes Angie happy when that happesn, so.... I bought a high-low dress last night and I love it. It's this one from Forever21: http://www.forever21.com/Produ.....VariantID= It's a little longer on me than on the model but the front still stops above the knees.

I needed a "cheap fashion fix" last night - somehow I've felt quite stale and boring in the style department lately even though I've continued shopping, and felt I've lost some trendiness and edge in the last few months as I've "upgraded" my professional wardrobe. And I've noticed that when Angie blogs about new trends, more often than not my comments were skeptical or downright "nay", and I thought I might be closing myself off to too many new concepts. So I marched off to H&M and Forever 21 last night with the mission to up the trendy factor without making a huge investment. Well it worked - I tried a lot of things, liked many but left most of them in the store because I either didn't *love* them or because the quality was just too shoddy, but ended up with two tops and this dress. I'm wearing it to work today and feel FABULOUS. (And got a compliment from a colleague who said it looked great and so on trend.)

Just sharing this because I am so happy not just about this specific dress but also about having expanded my mind and because I just have so much fun getting a cheap little fashiony item - and not caring if it won't last beyond one season. Now I'm hoping to do more of this again, and getting better at combining classic items (like my beloved pencil skirts and button downs) with real trendy ones. Kind of like you have showed us a lot of lately, Angie. So this one is for you
