We're back from our adventure in England and France, and I wanted to thank you all for your help with my packing. I especially want to thank everyone who suggested bringing warmer things. England was having its coldest March in 50 years, so gloves, hats, smartwool socks, and layers (and the kids' winter boots) were put to good use. Thankfully, France was much warmer. I lived in my NAS Blondo boots in England and in my metallic Seibel sneakers in France (both Angie picks). My feet were super happy. I probably could have used my puffer coat in England, what with the wind, but I managed by layering a black fleece under my trench (thanks, Astrid! Angie, pretend you didn't hear that).
Fashion-wise, everyone was wearing boots with skinnies/leggings, booties, or sassy sneakers, and everyone wore black from head-to-toe in Paris. I still managed to wear my white jeans a couple of times, and I wore my BF jeans a lot in Provence, even though I didn't see a single other pair or them anywhere. I was very happy with my travel capsule!
Anyway, here are just a few highlights -
1- snowy England, as seen from MIL's second-floor bathroom window
2- Big Ben from the London Eye
3- street fashion - DD in her new birthday outfit from Grandma (complete with fuchsia trench and matching handbag)
4- dirt road fashion in the vineyards of Provence, courtesy of DS (hence a post is coming of my shoulder and my feet are cut off)
5/6- The Roman ruins at Glanum and the view from the medieval castle in Les Baux-de-Provence. Thanks to Forum member Parsley for sending us to those two wonderful spots - we all loved them!
7- Ah, Provence...
Thanks, again!
