Wow, a little bit of reentry shock. Went straight from a life of limos, films, and parties to my son's basketball game at the local rec center last night, and then into a four hour trial this morning. Ah, life!

I'll report on Sundance fashion here, and on the films themselves in the OT section! You all heard about my packing mishaps, but all worked out fine because the boots were the perfect thing to wear with everything. I spent most of my time in my Gap parka except at screenings and parties, and the temps were around 30 so all was well. Nothing was particularly dressy, and I never felt underdressed, although I would have worn a different top than this oversized cashmere sweater if I had known I would end up in this publicity shot that is in all the papers! As you can see, it was after the profesional photos, because that's my camera in the foreground that one of the others is using to take our picture (which is pic 5). Not quite sure how this ended up mixed in with the real shots - I think one of the pro photographers took it for fun and somehow it got mixed in. Or maybe it's a good human interest angle.

Skinnies, tall boots, cozy hats, sweaters and down or shearling coats were by far the order of the day. It was kind of nice because it made it hard to tell who was "important" and who was a nobody like me. Lots of black and grey and cream. I saw Anna's mohawk hat several times. Everywhere we turned people were handing out free beanies with logos for their film company.

Everyone was superfriendly too. There were lots of different people there - Nancy Pelosi (whose daughter had a film there), Kenneth Cole (my sister and I were like "SHOES!"), Alicia Keyes - it's much more of an artist's event than a glamorous thing, although we did party till 4 a.m. every night. My husband was not at all sympathetic to my complaints about how exhausting it was seeing films and being driven to parties all the time.

So mostly it was skinnies and sweaters for me. I never did wear the BF jeans, but I wore the grey skinnies with the grey Gap sweater once and that was a nice cozy combo. For the big event (the HBO party), I wore my galaxy jacket and silver Current/Elliott skinnies (also in pic below), along with the Gidigios, and it was a perfect outfit - comfortable, eclectic, not overly dressy but still unique. I got several compliments on the jacket.

By the way, I got to meet up with Anna and Aida in Seattle - so much fun! Anna is gorgeous and also far more gregarious than I would have expected somehow. Aida is an old friend by now, of course, and both of them looked spectacular, especially compared to the half-dead travel zombie stage I was at by then. I am certain that we would spend tons of time together if we lived closer... Sigh.

Film update to follow in OT! My sister's film was the standout for me, of course, but there were so many fab documentaries, features and shorts - I only got to see a few and wish I could have stayed all week....
