If you were to dress me....

I thought this may be a fun post which could either fly or fall flat... And it might be useful because I think I often shop with blinkers about what I think might suit me!

I often see people and imagine how I would style them if they let me.

So indulge me - if you were styling me, what would you have me wear? It can be for any occasion or if you want specifics, lets say for Mom-on-the-go outfit - because that is how I think I dress most often. And since this is a fantasy styling session - any budget will do.

So, not really MOTG, but I have fallen in love with white this season, sooooo:

White trousers, an Eileen Fisher-esque top - the kind with lovely drape but still has structure - in a pale shade of silver. Tie it off with some fabulous silver shoes. Something like this, minus the toe studs: http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/sa.....n=wishlist

Then, I would accessorize with bold arm candy and earrings. You could change up the arm candy and earring to refresh the base outfit.

I think it fits with your style, but the color scheme is far enough removed that you would feel stretched

Hil, I'd actually like to see you in a lot of Shannon's looks, especially her dress looks. These would be a great silhouette on you. She has so many fab looks. You could take your pick.

I would style you in jewel tones and leave behind the blacks and greys. Rich dark teals and eggplants are top on the list. Burgundies and deep cobalt would work too.

I would like to highlight your gorgeous legs so it's definitely a skirt or pair of harem pants. And I love your collar bones, so scoop or cowl is my neckline of choice.

I'd keep the silhouettes soft and drapey. Arty but structured. Finish off with wedge booties of sorts and a floppy satchel

I would definitely get some more skirts like your recent purchase. Maybe in a pattern or two for fun -- stripes, even a floral. The colours that Kari wears could be great inspiration for you.

Thistle - I think I could get into white and silver, although I am battling with the idea as a winter colour, even though I loved Angie's winter whites!

BJ1111 - I love Deborah's style - her outfits constantly inspire me!

Liz - I am definitely going to be keeping a closer eye on Shannon's outfits now. That silhouette is not one I have tried.

Sanet - that trench is AMAZING!!! I am sure I have read about Albertus Swanepoel - I am going to have to dig into the recesses of my brain to think what I read. Definitely a South African name

Angie - since joining YLF I have found a new love of wearing colours and I now know why I have always been attracted to the jewel tones. I am enjoying starting to experiment with them. And I am loving skirts too, although I think the fact that it's winter and I can wear them with opaque tights helps. I still need get my head around to how to take this into summer.

Thanks Suz - I am thinking I could happily increase my skirt quota. I will also be paying more attention to Kari's colours from now on!!!

I am with Angie on the talents but not the prescription. Check out Kate Cerebrano. See pics. She is physically and facially similar to you and she is really sexy and gorgeous. I am not a sexy dresser(anymore- another story) but something tells me you might like her look. Am on a run now but here she is.

Hil I agree with Angie's assessment. And I think you and I share a love for a similar aesthetic. So this is my outfit for you on a mon on the go day:)

Stretch pencil skirt (knee length) worn with oversized fine knit sweater. Opaque tights and ankle booties with wedge heel. Large wrap / scarf wound very casually around the neck and draping. I might add a medium sized structured bag. Outfit in neutral tones and I would add maybe a splash of colour in the bag, or some accessories which I would keep to a minimum... oh and of course this is a winter outfit

Just re read Angie's suggestions and who can argue with the expert, scrap my suggestion of neutrals. Angie is right you would look amazing in jewel tones. I still think you look pretty good in neutrals though

Loving all the ideas! Wow Kate Cerebrano is gorgeous - I am not much of a sexy dresser although I don't mind some cleavage and such.

And Deb - well you know what you described is right up my alley. And neutrals are definitely my comfort zone! I don't actually have any booties and I keep thinking maybe I need some!
