Busted! Ebay purchase, $30 for an Eileen Fisher basic linen dress. I feel so gross about this. I really want to be strong!

OTOH, It's a linen dress I will wear all summer long when the temp gets above 95. Like, next week.

We are outlaws living on the lam, IK! You know, I think the bargain hunter instinct is in direct opposition to SYC - a hunter has to strike when her pray is in sight, unaware, and maybe a little injured... or else there will be no tasty linen dress for supper.

I don't know what all this means for our SYC promises... how will your DH feel about the dress score?

DH will be not very understanding. *rolls eyes* But I DID tell him purchases made last month were coming NOW. So maybe he won't notice.

Still, I feel bad enough about this that I don't want to do it again. He may not hang me, but he might make me wish he would and get it over with.

I am going to be the voice of opposition here. I simply don't understand why this dress is causing so much temptation. I know all about needing dresses in summer, but surely you went into SYC knowing that you did have enough to get through the next month???

And I don't think it looks that special either!! I suppose you can imagine it on or something?

(this is why I don't need SYC. I am capable of walking into a shop and not wanting to try on anything)

Ha! Anne, these really are the perfect summer dresses. They are cut to be flattering and comfortable even in boiling heat. They have pockets. They come in VERY limited colors - I've never seen one in this blue. It's very difficult to find one in my size, which is a PP or PS. They also retail for close to $300, on sale closer to $100+. So, I can see why you don't see its specialness in this image, considering you don't have the backstory.
