If you had to pick just one pair of boots

To take with you for the next several months (up to maybe a year) in a warmer climate, which pair would you choose??

And for those of you who are more familiar with my closet, which pair would you think I'd get the most outfits/wear out of? I'm packing these pants only (pics 7-11). The dresses I'm bringing are most of these seen here in the last pic (minus the pink chiffon, green floral, sweaterdress, and silk multi print).

I'm going to wear them on the plane to FL in a few weeks. I have no room to spare for frivolous options, so I have to pick the boots for the season.

That's a hard one....I think I would vote 2 or maybe 6 for versatility and attitude unless you just have a preference for higher boots with dresses. I can't imagine wearing fleece in FL so I would rule out 4. I'm not great a packing light!! Good Luck.

Can you wear the Fryes in #1 with skinnies? If so, them.

I think #1 because it is most like you. I am not sure they would be the best for the warmer climate of Florida, though. To me the shorter bootie # 2 would work.

Hands down #2. I personally would wear those with skirts, dresses, skinnys and boyfriend shorts. The others seem too wintery, although #1 and #3 would look really nice with the dresses.

I vote for 1 or 2. I love the tall lace ups--the color seems good for warmer weather although I'm not sure how comfy they would be if it was hot. The shorter boots look like something you could wear with skirts and shorts for a mild summer. I guess it kind of depends on the kind of weather you are expecting to have. How long will you be in FL?

I vote that you get a pair of cool perforated or otherwise open booties that bookend your hair. What? That wasn't an option?

I vote for #1. They're tall, but all the rest really say winter to me...

For a warmer fall/winter climate, I'd be inclined to choose either #1 (because of their lighter, more neutral colour) or #2 (because they're booties/ankle boots, and you wouldn't find them too warm).

Between those two? I'm leaning toward the boots in #2. More practical and versatile in a warm-ish fall/winter climate, imo.

I personally couldn't wear any of these in a super warm climate....but probably 1 or 2.

Hmmm, well I suppose I should admit that I'm not really comfortable with the idea of #2 on bare legs . . . my skinny ankles really exaggerate the whole standing in a flower pot syndrome. I'm fine with them over pants or leggings even, but dresses and bare legs, no siree. Looks like by default #1 are the leaders. I need to get their CPW down anyway, since they are the most expensive item in my entire wardrobe! I realize it's only boot season (if at all) for 3 or 4 months of the year in FL but I think one pair can make the cut anyway
Thanks for the input! (Interestingly, no one picked one of my other runner's up. Hmmmm. Always good to poll the masses lol.)

Do you really wear boots in Florida, even in winter? If you want a pair, I vote #2.

I am hesitating over #1 for the pants, esp the printed pants. Could be too ALGO. Though I like their vibe best for a hot place, the rest of the closet taken into account, I would choose #7 or maybe #6.

I would vote #1 all the way. The lighter color makes em look great with bare legs, not too heavy. And I find mine very easy to dress both up and down. I'm with Rachy in feeling that the rest feel heavy/wintry.

I think 5 felt like an option also, but wasn't sure the color was versatile enough with your dresses...I thought 1 might be a bit too warm in florida...but I run warm!

For me it's easy: 3!
This year flat tall boots are in! This one goes with everything!

Northern Florida--and even Central Florida at times--can get surprisingly cold in the winter, so don't rule out the boots unless you're going to somewhere south of Orlando. The humidity and wind can make the temperature feel colder than it actually is. Where I grew up, we almost always had winter days where we had to leave pipes dripping so they wouldn't freeze.

Boot #6 really catches my eye for some reason, though I also like #1 and #2. I wouldn't go with #2 unless you're going to stick with a casual look. Boot #6 and boot #1 would work well in a mild climate and could be dressed up or down.

1, for sure. The colour is more versatile, and knee boots are always a better option to my eye.

My first choice is no boots in FL (except the fantasy ones DonnaF suggested), then 3 (work with all of your pants and most of your dresses) and then 1. Nothing with fleece says FL to me and makes me itch thinking about it.

What are they and how can I buy a pair of my very own?

(as for the others: 2 feels too casual, 3 will be too heavy for summer if you end up there over the year, fleece says NYC or Chicago to me, I'm not big on brown boots as a rule or the fold down thing, and patent feels too much like spring).

I'm going to vote for the Frye Julias. I have a pair, and they are in the top 5 most comfortable boots I own. Would look nice with your white jeans and one of those short dresses over top.

I vote #1, they are a classic look and should remix well with your items here. Plus the color is not super dark so it will fit in with warmer weather.

Thank you all for weighing in. I think I will go with #1. I imagine they won't play well with my ikat jeans but seems they are neutral enough for just about everything else. Yes, FL does get chilly sometimes. I remember a 5K that was 40 degrees at race start 2 years back and thinking those runners have no idea how to dress for such temps lol.
I really want to only bring what I will wear, but I also want to bring enough to express myself and feel like I'm really living while there and not just on an extended trip, you know?? I'm thinking this will actually help me to weed through and bring the 9's and 10's of my wardrobe.

EDIT: the cognac foldovers were my runners up but they just don't go with nearly as many things, and are too wide for bare legs with dresses on me.

Yeah, if you want to wear them with dresses, I don't think you could go wrong with #1. I'm glad someone else agrees with me that Florida can get cold lol. I grew up there.
