IDLF Uniqlo sold out already?

I'm a new Uniqlo shopper, so I don't know if this is normal, but...

The new Ines de la Fressange debuted yesterday online, and I only got a chance to look at it now. I'd seen the preview weeks ago with so many beautiful sweaters, and now there is only one (and many sizes are out of stock).

Have they already sold out?... Or do they phase items in gradually?

They had beautiful colorblocked and Fair-Isle sweaters (can be seen in the promo images)...

Is the IDLF collection like those Target collabs that sell out within hours?

K.M. I don't know but I hope Uniglo doesn't use those Target tactics. It will be interesting to learn what happened in the situation you are posting about.

It does seem to have sold out pretty quickly. Maybe they made fewer of the items this year? I know for a few collaborations (like the latest Uniqlo U) they seem to have overstocked many items so maybe they're being more conservative. They do sometimes restock, though.

The JW Anderson collab also has some Fair Isle, and that's coming out in late September, but I think it'll go even faster because it's a new collab.

If they aren't showing up on the site at all they may not have them in stock yet. I've seen it go both ways with Uniqlo...sometimes a collection drops and items are added later and sometimes a few select items sell very fast. I do think in the past it has taken them more than a minute to pull the listings for the sold out items, so I'm hoping this is a case of the former. Maybe the sweaters are coming from a different distributor or factory? I'd keep checking back. eta: I notice there isn't even a sweater category under IDLF for men or women. That makes me lean towards thinking they haven't released them at all yet.

I just stopped by the SF store, which is one of the ones that stocks the collection, and they still had a decent selection. Once I saw the items in the store I remembered seeing them online when the online collection dropped, and then they were gone. So yeah, I guess a lot went quickly. Maybe you'll have some luck with returns.

I didn't see any Fair Isle knits, though. So I do wonder if those will arrive later. I would be shocked if they sold out instantly in the brick & mortar store, especially with the heat wave we're having. I did see a lot of 70s-inspired colorblocked sweaters.

Edit: Sometimes I stalk these collections on other countries' Uniqlo pages, especially Japan. Google Translate shows me that it says, for the IDLF collection, "Some items will be sold late October". So maybe you're in luck! If you scroll all the way to the bottom of this it show the fair isle things that are coming in October (in Japan at least).

Greyscale, this is all encouraging information! I had my heart set on the colorblocks and fair isles... Have you ever ordered from their sites in other countries, or do you just check them out for reference?

Traci, re: the sweater category... When I first checked the site there was a sweater category for women and it contained only one sweater (a pouffy turtleneck sold out in my size). Then I checked later and that sweater and the category were gone; the whole page had gone from 36 to 29 items (a beautiful wool wrap skirt was also gone among other items).

So, I wrote to them yesterday evening (Saturday at 8 pm!) and they replied within minutes (!!!) and here's what they said:

"Thank you for contacting the UNIQLO USA Customer Center.

"Regarding with our IDLF collection, it is just in limited stocks
only. AN d about the restocking. I deeply apologize for any
inconvenience this may cause you. I recommend checking our website
regularly for updates, as it is regularly updated when new stock
arrives.

"You are a valued customer and we appreciate your business. We would like to thank you for choosing UNIQLO."

I'm so impressed with their customer service! But yes, it seems it is selling out like hot cakes. I'll keep checking for returns or restocked items... I'm a newbie to Uniqlo, and I'll know this for next time.

15-minutes later update:

They added some stuff back to the site!!! Not necessarily in stock (at least not in my size), but at least sweaters are showing back up and you can sign up for restocking notifications.

annagybe, I was tempted by several of the blazers--velvet, corduroy with no lapel, and wool. It's just as well, I don't have a whole lot of $ for purchases right now... (sour grapes )
