Ideas for Styling a Plaid Riding Jacket

I'm looking for stylish yet fun jackets for fall and I just happened upon this plaid riding jacket on Nordies.com. I might be in love. But the problem is that I don't really know what can go underneath this jacket. Any ideas for tops? I'd probably do skinnies with riding boots or booties for the bottom half. Would a simple tank or tee work or do I need something more blouse-like?

I loved that too - it's currently on backorder on the site. I think you could wear a simple tank or tee for sure, or you could get more complex with a longer blousy style (see the photos of London that Jean/Greenglove just posted - both she and Inge are wearing jacket over untucked blouse!)...

Oh thanks for the tip alaskagirl! I don't think I have any blousy style tops that would work under that green plaid but I have plenty of white and cream colored shells.

Yes, it is back-ordered unfortunately. I may order it and hope for the best. I bought two back-ordered Willow and Clay items from Nordies over the summer and they shipped within a few days of the estimated back-in-stock date. It's worth a shot.

Yummy! How about a button front cream blouse with a silk scarf worn ascot-style tucked inside the collar. You could wear it tucked with skinnies, or if tunic length, untucked over leggings and tall flat boots.

Super cute. I don't know if there's much you can't wear it with. Would wear a longer top to block the draft (!) LOL

I really like this jacket too. If I was wearing it with skinnies I'd be more inclined towards a longer, blousy top rather than a tee or tank to wear under it, but that's because I like more coverage when wearing skinnies. With a boot cut or trouser jean, I think a more fitted tee or tank would look great. Good luck with availability!
