I am waivering on something I like (bag) because it seems like the shipping from the UK will be nearly the cost of the item. Assuming that if I were to order and receive it I decided to keep it, the bag's price has been greatly reduced from what's available both in Europe and on sites for the US market such as ASOS.com (where obviously, those charges are already going to be reflected in the price anyway).
Does everyone else get hung up on shipping (particularly those handling fees)? If you were only to consider the entire cost and not break it down and it turned out to be reasonable, would you go ahead and pull the trigger?
Heh, this is just one example of all my anxieties around shopping/spending money that I'm currently working with.
Of course, there's the risk of return, too. But I'd probably like the items enough.
It's fascinating as to how much psychology there is involved in purchasing. And not all of it making sense, in my case.
