Outfits Ensembles Trends Advice

I went on a beach holiday for a week and all I packed was...

In fact my holiday is two weeks and counting, here is what I'm packing, do you think I'm missing something? Do you pack more or less for a week at the beach?

5 dresses suitable for day or evening
2 denim skirts (1 black, 1 blue)
1 pair of boyfriend shorts (white denim)
5 cotton tanks (various colours)
1 swimsuit
1 cover up
1 sun hat
1 pair of sunglasses
1 pair of sandals
1 pair of mid height heels
enough knickers to last a month (my own ocd)
1 necklace
1 canvas tote
1 clutch

I would add some type of layering piece- denim jacket or sweater. It's often breezy at the beach here- especially after sundown.

I would also add a summer weight scarf for cooler evenings (if you like scarfs).

Khris, I will wear my cover up on the plane, the temps in Turkey will be so much higher than in the UK I probably (hopefully) wont need it when I'm there.

Lisa, a scarf seems like a great idea.

I would pack a light cotton long sleeved shirt, in case of sun burn.

Oh - and I presume you are taking a couple of bras

Yes Fi, I will pack brassieres, hopefully the sun block will mean I don't burn but you are right, better safe than sorry.

Sorry, I realized that I was being completely useless about the packing part. I would add a pair of flip flops (or equivalent) to wear to and from the beach/pool. Also make sure that your tote has a zipper and be mindful of pickpockets!

I also know that sometimes it is cooler in a long sleeved top, with the sun off my skin than in short sleeved ones. I burn within 8 minutes in NZ!

I loved Turkey when we went last year, we didn't go to the beach but had the most amazing time, everyone was very friendly, shopping was fantastic and the food was wonderful. It was a good thing the baklava shop involved an uphill walk on the way back to our hotel

Also, I should mention that I always carry more than one swimsuit. I like to change into a dry swimsuit when I go for lunch or drinks. It is also nice to have a spare just in case.

If you're going to be spending a lot of time at the beach, I would pack at least one more swimsuit and at least one more cover-up. I pack light, so I probably would cut down on the number of dresses I took. But if you can fit everything, go for it!

I'd add a scarf, a jacket of sorts, and another bathing costume if you can? Do you have enough shoes?

I always double up on the swim suit and cover up. Also bring sun cream and a hair mask.

I would love to double up the bathing costume but I have spent three months searching and have only found one which I'm happy about (if it was still in stock I would duplicate). I will hand wash like a demon to ensure it remains pristine.

Great tips about the scarf, it will definitely pull a denim skirt and tank look into an outfit.

Shoes, I may pack another pair. I have to be mindful of weight as my youngest does not have a baggage allowance and needs a lot of extra stuff such as nappies etc.

Oh, I always take an airy long sleeve button down shirt so that I can really keep the sun off my skin if I am outside too much.
