I was looking for a bag today...

...with no success. Nothing really pulled at my heart strings (apparently this heart is as hard as a rock in relation to bags)...however I came home with 2 sweaters I would like your opinion on.
#1-5 - merino wool cardigan. I like that it is long in the back so I can wear a variety of tops with skinnies without worrying how exposed my rear is.:-) However this kind of hem is new to me and I am not sure about it. I tried it with ans without the belt - what is your verdict?
#6-9 - short sleeve cowl neck sweater. Again, it is a new shape for me so I need some help. I was looking for a sleeveless / short sleeve roomy sweater quite for some time - this is the first time I found something remotely matching my goal. Does it look shapeless on me? Not roomy enough? Not long enough? Bad color?
Please be honest as I do not need to add more mediocre items to my wardrobe.

Sveta, I must admit that I'm not wild about the cardi. It doesn't seem to know what to do with itself. On the other hand, I LOVE that raspberry cowl on you! YUMMY. I especially like the waist-surrenduring look in #6, with the black. That is a TERRIFIC outfit. KEEP.

I really like #2. Beautiful color and the cut, though roomy, doesn't look too big. I'm not a big fan of the cardi. Something about the wide gray stripe across your bum and down your hips isnt' the most flattering... on anyone. Just my thoughts, not really know much about your style.

Sveta, I'm not crazy about the first cardigan. It looks ok but not amazing to me. However I love the short sleeved sweater, especially belted. It looks cozy and warm and is a beautiful look at the same time. Keep that one.

I love, love, love the 2nd cardigan. The color is lovely and it looks good either belted or not. I think the first cardi kind of overwhelms you.

I love the second sweater...especially belted. The first one has some wierdness going on in the shaping...I would return it. Maybe I am just playing it too safe but I don't think it is flattering at all. And you look great in just about everything!!! So it MUST be the sweater.

I actually sot of like the cardi (but not belted), even though it IS rather overwhelming you. It's like an oversize Eileen Fisher look and your skinnies with a bit of ankle showing bring some necessary balance to it..

Even so, EL isn't always the most flattering look for anyone -- more of an acquired taste, and maybe just for those days when we're willing to sacrifice a bit of perfection for comfort. . .

I have to agree with everyone else and say that the cardi isn't flattering with the way it flares outward but then goes back in--it makes you look like you have a large rear (but don't worry, it's not you, it's the clothes!). But that raspberry cowl neck sweater tunic is gorgeous on you--keep! I love the belted look too...I have a very similar one in teal that I wear belted too. Sorry you haven't found a bag yet but I probably shouldn't help you any more...last time I tried to do that I ended up with two Kate Spades of my own.

# 9 is great, whereas the first cardigan looks from behind like the bag you were looking for (sorry!). I agree with the others here.

I agree completely with everyone else - the cardigan isn't flattering at all, but the cowl neck sweater is gorgeous on you - keep that!

Is the first sweater gray and black? I much prefer it unbelted and loose, though if you are looking for a versatile layering piece, that color-blocked look could be more challenging than a solid black or gray (the lower stripe of gray is sort of distracting). I really love the second sweater!.

Now that you've made your choice, all I can say is... sounds good to me! The bottom-cupping aspect of the cardigan is what put everyone off, maybe? The raspberry one is very cute. So cozy looking, up-to-date and figure flattering also because it hugs you at the hips and doesn't fly away from your shape.
