I Want an Anne Fontaine Blouse.......

As I've mentioned before, I am a MOTG, will less emphasis on the "Go" part. I've gotten it into my head that I want an Anne Fontaine blouse. Is this crazy? I could wear it to church on Sunday.... I could wear it on a date with hubby....... Crazy talk, right?

Me too! Ever since I saw Angie's posts on Anne Fontaine, I've been wanting to go visit their store! I never wear white shirts because all I have is a plain boxy one from Ann Taylor and a super-tight low-neckline one from H&M...nothing in between. But I have the feeling I would wear a white shirt a lot if I had a fabulous one!

goldenpig, they come in black too (as I'm sure you know). Does this mean I / we should want TWO blouses?

Not crazy talk at all. Investment piece and everyday item are not necessarily synonymous. Investing in a quality blouse for church, dates, etc. is completely acceptable if it is a classic design you will want to wear for multiple years. Investment pieces are about longevity as much as quality.

I don't think that's crazy at all. Having a beautiful staple piece that fits you well and makes you feel spectacular... I think that's a wonderful purchase. It could get you by for church as well as date nights or semi-formal events, or even just a day out with jeans when you want to feel a little extra fab. If you ever have a need for a business wear outfit, you'll be set. I'd recommend looking at this series of Angie's outfits for extra inspiration - you don't necessarily need to have a tunic-length shirt to emulate these looks:

I actually snagged two anne fontaine blouses on ebay for around $60 each- brand new with tags attached. worth a look. sometimes they do turn up there. I am waiting to wear them yet though.

On the Sunday after our NYC YLF meet up, I happened upon the AF shop and took a walk through -- the pieces really are lovely and classic, but with some twists. I can see incorporating one of those shirts in daytime looks as well as dressier occasions.

I seriously eyed one of the black shirts, and the belt with the zipper-edge detailing!

FWIW, I would be very weary of purchasing an AF shirt second hand. These shirts need laundry TLC, and from what I have seen - second hand white and black shirts have not been privy to laundry TLC!

Purchasing on ebay "brand new" is a different story, and possibly a good idea. I have to this day *never* been able to purchase anything that I like on ebay in my size, and I have completely lost my patience with it. Sad but true.

Kafe, I agree...I so want a black shirt too! I only have one button down shirt right now that I can wear...it's a pale blue Ann Taylor. I feel like it's kind of boring, but I always get lots of compliments from DH when I wear it (he likes classic looks) so maybe I should get some more button down shirts. I don't like plain shirts though...I like classic things with a bit of flair & with unique details, so sounds like Anne Fontaine would be right up my alley!

I guess I should clarify that the items were 'new with tags' not brand new as that term can only apply when one has firsthand knowledge of the newness! Sometimes I goof up on appropriate terminology!

but both items were in good condition with tags and lavender? sachet attached. I lucked out in sizes.

plan to wear them and feature them in some wiw's soon.

The AF site is "under construction" so I can't get a good look on what's offered. There is a store about an hour from me which I hope to visit within the next few weeks.
