I want a giant necklace like this...

Well, you can tell where I spent some time this past weekend....anthropologie! Anyways, I'm really intrigued by this 'stormy seas' necklace, only in the original sky blue. It is really stunning in person. I saw it on a lady at dinner at a restaurant the other night with an otherwise completely plain outfit and it just really looked great. I wear a lot of non-patterned, fairly plain jeans and tee shirts and plain dresses so I think this would be a great accessory.

I like it and might get this one but just wondered if anyone has seen anything similar out and about at other places (including etsy?)

It's gorgeous agrace, and I agree, this will really add some pizzazz to an otherwise fairly plain outfit. Very practical and easy if you ask me;-)

Thanks, Inge! $48 is a bit pricey but also possibly reasonable b/c of the potential cost per wear. it is VERY heavy in real life and absolutely HUGE - more like a collar necklace. I am not adept at shopping etsy but it immediately came to mind. Would love to buy a necklace from someone on etsy if anyone stumbles across one.

The sky blue is just the most beautiful shade of blue, so blue is definitely the color I am after.

Okay, we are looking for blue then (love the sound of it too!!). It's definitely a statement piece and I think you're right, you probably need to think of the cost per wear on this one.

I'm going to have a quick look on Etsy (Maya is right, their search function is not the most handy, so not sure if I'll find something).

Thanks! I tried to and all I turned up was turquoise. The blue is just almost a robins egg blue but with a touch of green...just dreamy. I'm infatuated. The size is a tad daunting though...

Marianna, what color was she wearing? I'm trying to understand how people style it. It is just so ENORMOUS!

off topic but btw, your ensemble with the tweed jacket has me kicking myself in the pants for not getting an ann taylor tweed jacket I saw at the thrift store this morning...it was a pale green tweedy jacket, but I could not imagine what to pair it with and was thinking it would age me. Now I'm thinking i might have to dash back to try to find it and pair it like you did!

I really don't think it's that enormous! You just have to get used to the look! She had the blue necklace and I actually think she was wearing a flower print top (very Anthro!) I noticed how amazing she looked... it didn't look over the top or anything!

Go get that tweed jacket!

I might try but it will be gone as I left it on the end of a rack. I try to put the cute stuff I don't get out, I guess it is my version of paying it forward in the thrifting world. Plus, that's how i often find cute stuff like my awesome J.Crew velvet pencil skirt....anyways, I just might.

Hm nothing decent so far agrace, I'm sorry. Except for two beautiful ones that cost about ten times as much.

If you really like this one, I think it's worth giving it a shot and spending a little more than usual. I have a feeling you'll be wearing this very often...

I have also seen that necklace. I think it is gorgeous and you would get a lot of wear out of it. $48 for the quality of the piece seems reasonable. If you do buy it please post pictures.

sounds like ebay is the way to go since you're so in love with this specific piece, but i'm pretty sure i've seen similar things at 10,000 Villages. i can't seem to find a match on their site, but if there is one in your area, it's worth a look. they carry things that are not in their online shop.

Jessica - thanks! I would not have thought to look there but those are great necklaces. I will check them out, we do have one locally. Now that I'm seeing other prices I'm starting to realize $48 is not so bad for such a statement piece.

The necklace is beautiful and would probably be a forever piece. If so it is more prudent to consider the cost per wear rather than the initial outlay.

I hope the necklace finds a place under the Christmas tree this year.
