I wanna be sedated...er, I mean I wanna be a romantic punk

This thought came to me while I was making the bed just now. Does this make any sense? Is this one look, or split-personality looks for alternate days? Am I just enjoying myself in my typical weird way? Any pics that speak "romantic punk" to you would be appreciated. I wasn't even a real punk in college--POSER. Not even a poser. But it's the spirit of it, I guess. Minimalist, zippers, hardware, exuberance, details, blah blah blah. I can go back and do the exercises later--on my way out the door....and oh yes, I like Classic too

I don't think is disjointed at all. I don't have pictures, but I love a biker jacket with a soft, flowy blouse. A biker vest over a floaty dress would also work. Anytime you have pieces that lean extremely in one direction (romantic and feminine, or tough and masculine) it helps to pair them with a bit of the opposite.

Mochi, I don't think this is disjointed at all. In fact, I think what you describe might approach the steampunk look - romantic and Victorian elements fuzed with hardware and industrial elements. Probably the difference for you would be more urban instead of industrial.

An image search yielded a bunch of photos, so you're not the only one with this combo on the brain.

Romantic punk makes perfect sense to me. And I can think of a lot of ways to do it - from the subliminal to the full out musical ;>

Makes sense to me. I may not portray it well in my everyday outfits but I have an undercurrent of this running through my chosen style too. I have several pieces that just on their own, join ruffles and zippers lol. For me, a more understated hand feels right with this dichotomy. I'd feel silly in a ballgown and biker jacket - but Angie has pulled it off effortlessly.

One of my favorite photos back in the 90s was a woman with a tomboy-short haircut in a black tank top, a ballet-pink tulle skirt, and a pair of Doc Martens. She had crazy attitude and charm and wore the outfit with complete ease. I've always loved that kind of juxtaposition which to me sends a message of "Don't assume you know everything about me" or "I'm full of interesting contradictions" or even "I have a playful sense of humor but am also a bad-a$$."
