Zippers, and buckles and those four oddball shaped thingies on the hips.
It came in one of their emails and the model was wearing with a slouchy sweater.

I really like the second one. Artistic, unusual, but not a zipper display rack at a fabric store. I also like the length of the second one a great deal more.

Hahaha. This reminds me of the unfortunate similar ALGO trends of the 80s, which back then I called "snaps 'n flaps." It seemed to infect a lot of things at the time.

I normally am a fan of "moto/biker" details on leather (and looks that can be a bit over the top for most) and I'm with you...that skirt is too much (unless you're going to a biker gang convention, imho).

I love the other one. This is a style I've been looking for for awhile now. Only problem is I'm so short that they all hit too long on me and the asymmetric cut on that style makes it look ridiculous if it hits too long on the leg.

This is a very busy skirt indeed especially for a mini length: everything is crammed together much more at this length.
The second skirt looks much more interesting to me too.

I had the same thought as Lisa...you'd better not wear this skirt to the airport, or you'll have to take it off to get through the metal detector!

I love the second one! The first one reminds me of one of those toddler toys--a board with doors to open, knobs to turn, mirrors to lok into, etc. Only the skirt has zippers and buckles to play with!

Not a leather buyer here -- I'll do pleathers and good fake stuff but can't buy "lambskin," it makes me too sad.

Sooooo, question, based on the description of that ugly first skirt: do they REALLY "garment wash" lambskin???? The second skirt looks nice, and I noticed it is "unwashed" skin.

Seems crazy to me to wash a leather item, that's all.

Linda, yes. Washing leather gives it a softer more worn effect. I actually have some garment washed lambskin pants as well as some vintage leather jackets I opt to wash instead of have specialty cleaned. You can also put many of them in the dryer on low heat as well (this is especially good for lambskin leather pants as it does help them slightly shrink back into shape because they stretch a lot when you wear them. I do this with my AllSaints washed leather pants. It works well and saves a fortune in cleaning costs. Note it's only a good idea to do if the leather is meant to be soft and somewhat worn looking. I wouldn't recommend it for polished or structured pieces at all (it will ruin the finish).
