I think I'm in love: denim jacket and zipper flower pin

One of the most egregious gaps in my wardrobe was the lack of a cheeky, cropped denim jacket. This was especially probblematic considering my inherent preference for slightly fuller dresss silhouettes and my growing fondness for those items of clothing. Well, one day a little blonde, pearl-wearing, Valentino-toting bird pointed out a jacket she'd come across during her flights and suggested it might be perfect for me.

I happen to have a certin amount of confidence in this bird, so I decided to act on her suggestion. I enlisted the help of another blonde birdie (this one featuring an engagement ring and a red Kate Spade bag) to acquire the jacket for me and send it off to Canada.
Here is the result (pic 1). I haven't been this excited about an item of clothing in a long time!! But if I'm way offbase, please say so. Also, this can be worn with pants too right?

Another recent purchase was a zipper flower pin that Melissa spotted on Etsy. In this picture (pic 2) I have put it on my Chanel-esque jacket to see if it adds a bit of spunk to this traditional wardrobe item. Also, can this be worn over a dress?

Last but not least is a question for Angie. Some time ago I posted this very dress over the zipper leggings I'm wearing here to see if they could be worn together. There was some debate, but the overall concensus was that the dress was too long for leggings. Thoughts?

Oh, Michelle, you look amazing in your outfits, LOVE your new jacket. The perfect topping for a great outfit, and the Chanel-esq jacket and pin, another great look. The pin is super cute, hard to see from the photo, but I know this pin, and love it.

Great jacket! I like the dress with it, although there isn't a ton of contrast. Both the dress and the jacket are fairly dark colors.

I could see this over the white tunic and a pair of skinny pants...Wow, you are going to get a ton of wear out of that jacket. I think it's just the pop of cheekiness you've been seeking. You can really put it over ANYTHING, eh?

Michelle, do you have a chambray or denim shirt? Do you think you could come to like the idea, if not? I was thinking that tweed jacket would look cute over one.

I do like the pin on the jacket. It blends in, but it's a nice, spunky touch. (-:

How did you end up with so many enabling blondes in your life, Michelle? Must be because they adore the brunette who oozes movie star glam. Although these days the glam brunette has found her edge and sports zipper leggings and dresses with the best of them!

Yay! Michelle, I'm so happy that you found such an awesome denim jacket! It is perfect on you! Love that pin too - you can pop that on your denim jacket as well. I like your Chanel jacket over the dress & I think it can totally work over dresses. Being a minimalist, I think I would prefer it over a sold colored dress than a print so that I can better focus on the details of the jacket.

Absolutely fab denim jacket, Michelle. The sleeves look long enough that you could probably turn up the cuffs once to give it a fun look, if you like. As others have said, you will get so much wear out of that jacket! I recall a few times I saw an outfit photo of yours and thought (and maybe said, or else someone else said) that the outfit would look really good with a denim jacket. It will fit so well into your current wardrobe. What does Corey think of the new addition?
