I think I want new glasses for my birthday

Funny how your gift hopes change when you find YLF. LOL I was at the eye doctor today helping dh pick out new frames and had fun trying on some myself. What a difference glasses make! It's hard to tell that until you see some comparisons.

Never mind that my birthday isn't until September, so I still need to wait...

Anyone else update their glasses recently? Did it help a lot style-wise?

I only bought sunglasses...does that count? LOL...

I'm not very good at advice for glasses (my own face is long and narrow so I try to find narrow but deeper frames - that's only after years of trial and error, though!(.

have fun and post lots of pics of different ones so we can see! There are tons of fun frames around these days...

I'm needing to pick up reading glasses soon. I used to have better than 20/20 vision, but now that I'm aging a little and my eyes are starting to go. Not happy about that, but happy about finally getting glasses. I've always liked them -- probably b/c I didn't NEED them. So now I have to learn lots of new stuff about glasses. I hope to pick some up this summer, but September at the latest (still holding out b/c spending money on other things). I've played at some optical stores already, and it seems to be quite the science picking out very flattering frames (face shape, distance between the eyes, brow bone, etc.).

I'm getting new frames next week, and I'm so excited!

I still love my old ones (dark tortoiseshell-- pretty much looks black-- with green accents from Kate Spade), but I've noticed that I only wear them in the winter, or with dark clothes. I've picked out a great pair of gold wire rims, and so between the two I think I should be able to wear glasses any day I'm in the mood.

The ones I like the most are dark plastic frames with turquoise on the inside of the glasses that peeks out all around. It's hard to explain but I like the look.

Sounds like a plan to me, Brenda:-) And good for you for starting to think about it/look around now. I really like the sound of the specs with the turquoise (I think I know precisely what you mean).
