I was at a shoe store this afternoon and tried on low heeled classic court shoes, black pleather, comfy heel, space for insoles, classic bow and extremely cheap. I thought, hey, these might work for winter (I tend to go classier in winter).
However, they felt too lady like for my taste, boring and a bit granny like.
Maybe it's because I was in breezy polka dots shorts, which didn't help to add coherence to the outfit, maybe it was because it's summer. Maybe it has to do with the fact that I'm dreaming of getting tall black Doc Martens this fall. Maybe I really need some studs to add a bit of edge?
I just don't know where my old, classy, pearly girl with preppy instincts, a love for polka dots and bows is. Less than half a year ago, I'd have bought those in a heart beat. But now I just can't. I also said 'no' to a pair of leather black ballet flats at 12€ for the same reasons... I might be going crazy or something.
Image is not the exact shoe, the ones I saw had a bit of embellishment here and there and a bow -slim bow-, but they are more or less the same style.
For the record, I'm 24 and might be heading to the store tomorrow again, since I need to go somewhere else and the shop is on my way (not my fault, you see, it's destiny!)
