As many of you know, I did not love the Leith track pants for me, but I have found what I think may be my solution:

I ordered them in a couple of sizes, and I am liking the larger of the two, even though I technically could have gone with my normal size. My problem is that in many garments like jeans, even when you size up, the thighs are not necessarily cut with more room. And that is the one part of me that needs sizing up to have any kind of ease in the fit. I have tried sizing up in jeans and it's just pointless because the thighs still fit close and the waist and hip and butt just get huge on me.

However, these pants actually have a bit more room in the thigh for that drapey look and feel, but the fact that they are not pleated but simply gathered (and not excessively so) makes them fall much more into my comfort zone. I don't care for gobs of fabric around my hips -- I just don't. When I sit down and all that fabric fluffs around me, I feel huge. But these pants feel pretty good, if I can get past the feeling that I'm wearing very nice pajamas. And huge bonus: they are long enough on me if I wear them below my natural waist, which of course is where I prefer to wear them anyway! The smaller size I tried fits me somewhat similarly to the model in the photo (actually, I think I had more room than the model), and the large has even more room. I like the neutral navy color too -- not a color I would have chosen a year ago, but it's growing on me! They also feel wonderful -- lightweight and comfortable. The only downside is that they are dry clean, but that's not a deal-breaker for me.

I doubt I'll have pics of me in the pants to post before I embark on my next little travel adventure tomorrow, but I'm kind of excited, so I thought I'd share.
