Promoting my own blog is nerve racking for me, and it is really just starting up, but ahem, and especially if you are interested in thrifting, I have just started a blog: http://www.takeitorleaveitblog.com

A little background as I attempt to let go of my "so 20th century" ideas about privacy: my last job (in a long and convoluted line) was ghost blogging for American law firms. It had its fascinations (there is a good reason that Breaking Bad was set in Albuquerque) but I am hoping to find something a bit more local and related to my current interests. I am planning to blog about thrifting, local designers, middle aged concerns such as grey hair, maybe books. Anyway, I would be delighted to have you visit, and very happy to receive comments or be asked questions.

And finally I will be using my real name on my blog, which is Jaime. Shevia is taken from my Hebrew name and I will keep it as my user name here because it is also me, but not as me as the name everyone calls me! Please feel free to address me either way.

It is far too early in the morning for a drink of anything but coffee, so I will be going to get some more of that fine stuff right now! Thanks for reading!

Even 20th-century standards for privacy are too little for me; I'd prefer 19th-century standards.

I did pass on an Eileen Fisher merino wool cardigan in a contemporary cut the other day. I was very tempted, but it wasn't my color and I didn't know how to do the resale thing (plus my thrift stores tend to be about 12$ for items with no return policy).

Gigi, Crutcher and any other 19th century (and earlier) privacy lovers, my heart is with you. I decided to break out of it for a few different reasons but have the utmost respect for those of you who prefer keeping a low profile. It is a bit of a struggle still!

Rabbit you are very wise to give up that sweater. I think one of the dangers of thrifting is taking stuff that is almost good enough but not quite. Honestly, I would be lost without Angie YLF in that department.

I was daydreaming yesterday and mused, if I could spend a day with a Fabber I've never met, who would I choose? My first thought was that I would visit you so we could shop your favorite thrift stores! Reading your blog will be a pleasure that I can actually fit into my budget and schedule, and without imposing on you. (You'll "see" me there in a few days. I have to finish reading two book club books before Monday, so my free time isn't.)

Shevia. I for one have been very curious about your thrifting. I enjoyed reading your blog posts! As a youngster I was puzzled by gray vs grey, as the street my grandparents lived had 'Grey' in it. My elementary school teacher corrected me on a paper
