Thank you to everyone who listened to my rants about my shopping slump and gave me lots of encouragements and suggestions.
It was the first day of the winter sales yesterday and I actually had a successful shopping day. I took Manidipa's suggestion and made myself a timetable. I set a three hour limit and also made a list of the shops I really wanted to visit. I also wore an oversized sweater to make taking it on and off to try stuff easy and comfy shoes so that my feet wouldn't get tired.
I decided to forget about my must have list for once and just picked up everything I liked and tried it on. A lot of the stuff was awful and some of it was just okay. But I did find some fabulous stuff that actually fit my 'winter must haves' list at amazing prices!
Pic #1 - Two striped t shirts. I paid €5 for both! These will work well layered under my coloured cardigans and my many jackets.
Pic #2 to #4 - This top was a complete impulse purchase. I knew I'd already bought two striped t shirts but this one is lacey, it has sparkly gold stripes and these military-ish buttons on the shoulder. Instant LOVE!
Pic #5 and #6 - I bought a sweater! It's a navy cotton and wool blend and surprisingly didn't itch at all, even when worn over bare skin. It's quite a basic colour and I'm sure it will work well with my more colourful wardrobe. It has some ruching on the shoulders, which is a detail that I've never seen before but I liked it on me!
Pic #7 - Another impulse purchase is this half sleeve sweater. I fell in love with the bright emerald colour and the velvet (!!!) polka dots. I'm trying to figure out how to make it work in our freezing cold weather. Maybe a sleeveless thermal layered underneath and a jacket on top? It will be great in spring and autumn though!
Pic #8 - This is a sweater that I ordered online from Esprit. It's a chunky forest green sweater. The last chunky sweater I ordered didn't work as it was super itchy, but this one is cotton and acrylic so I hope it will work. Another muted colour - unusual for me, but somehow, I'm just in the mood for some darker shades.
Now I'm just hoping to find a dark wash pair of jeans or even better, a pair of dark trousers plus a pair of boots. I would also love one or two solid coloured layering t shirts and maybe even one more sweater, but I've had no luck so far. I still have a lot of shops to visit though, so I'm hoping this lucky streak will keep up!
