I REALLY don't need this bag

I've just found this bag and I love it. But, we have fall now. This is a spring and summer bag. I have light colored bags already and what I'm really lacking is a darker colored leather bag. And it's still not cheap even though it's half the price. Argh, I hate being reasonable.

White fabric is really impractical. If it stains, you'll never get the dirt out. If you really want a white fabric bag, you could DIY it. Hold strong.

Darn, being practical is no fun! It's true that white fabric probably isn't the greatest. It's hard finding a bag that you love, though.

I'm the last person to try to talk someone out of a white bag! I am loving my new white tote. However, I will try to talk you out of a white *fabric* bag. It will stain. And it will be ruined when it is stained. If it is too expensive to be a splurge, throw away purchase, then you shouldn't buy it. Heartbreak lies ahead if you do!

Thank you both! Although this is not a *fabric* bag (sorry, I overlooked that with Sylvie's comment), it's real leather. Forgot to mention it.

Weeeeeell, then! If it is an embossed leather bag, then you should buy it. See. I told you that I'm the last one to talk you out of it. I've been really surprised by how my white bag freshens up my winter look. (And thanks!)

It is gorgeous (sorry). How messy are you? I couldn't do it I'd ruin it, but some people could.

Well, you're definitely enabling. Although I'm not sure the white would work as well with my winter stuff, maybe the contrast is just too big and difficult to work with.

Caro, that's alright. I wouldn't say I'm messy, but I've never had a white bag before, so I couldn't be sure if it would work out.

Astrid you're not super high contrast with your looks usually, so I do think that perhaps a white bag might be too contrasty for your winter stuff. Now, a light gray or a dark cream would work. You know, if you wanted a light bag for winter ^^

White is a tough color I summer and really, really tough in winter.

Not sure how much snow you get by you, but by me, the slush and muck of winter, not to mention the thin layer of salt on everything destroys white. All it takes is brushing up against the car in the morning with your white bag and now it is grey.

Astrid, I had a light coloured tote that I loved and it was wonderful the first 3 times I used it and then it stained like no tomorrow! It was so annoying because it was never the same again! The leather trim stains and gets water stains when I try to wash the whole bag! I say pass on this one!

fyi, astrid, white is BIG this f/w and HUGE into the spring. so hope on the bandwagon, you will not be sorry.

wear with winter darks. as k said, will perk up the outfits. white is super with grays, esp the silvery ones.

Thanks Aida! I guess you're right, this wouldn't be an everyday bag for winter. But I don't really need one anyway. I don't need a new bag at all if I'm honest - I just love the way this looks! It would be alright for me to wear this mostly in the warm seasons. This is a bag from the spring/summer collection anyway, that's why it's marked down.

Thanks Thistle! We have enough snow and muck, that's true. But when it's the worst weather I'm taking my backpack anyway to keep my books and everything dry, so that's not really a drawback.

Thanks Lyn! That's what I fear. I guess I'm just a practical person at heart and the idea of buying something I fear would be impractical makes me hesitate.

Thanks Jenava. No, it doesn't have feet, from what I've seen. But why would it get stained without them? I never set my bags down on the floor.

Personally I always listen to bag love. It doesn't strike often and it never leads me astray. I know you want a dark bag for winter, but this one is on sale and the day you go looking for something like this, you will not find it. The color reads pretty silvery to me, and I can easily imagine it with, e.g. navy or burgundy, any deep color like that, also in cold weather.

ETA: also BJ made a great point about white only getting bigger in accessories.

Thanks Scarlet. You're right, all my favourite bags were impulse buys and the one I bought when I thought I needed something like it is languishing in my closet. Same with shoes! I agree that it should work well with navy and burgundy, when it ends up looking like it does on my screen.

Thanks for enabling, Glory! I'm going to order it now. Then I can see if it is just as lovely IRL and try it out with some outfits. And I can always return if it doesn't work.

I love it, Astrid, and you can put it aside for Spring. The embossed leather looks divine and the leather trim will complement your lovely hair......I vote yay :). There are many more dark bags to choose from in the stores at this time of year, aren't there??
