I probably need glasses!

Oh sweetie- good luck. It's really not the end of the works if you need glasses all the time. Just think- it's another fashion accessory to play with!

Thanks Khris True, true. I saw some awfully cute DKNY and Tommy Hilfiger specs in there the other day when I booked my appointment!

But I must say I'll be a bit put out if it's permanent - my eyes is probably the feature I am happiest with, and I feel like glasses will obstruct them somewhat Ah well, it's better than having shocking headaches all the time!

Well, if you really don't like wearing glasses, you of course have some other options. However, don't underestimate how fabulous a good pair of specs can make you look. They can even become a part of your own fabulous signature style! So many ladies on this forum sport KILLER specs, so you'll have lots of inspiration!

I am sorry, Tara, that you sight is not as good anymore. Have you considered an eye surgery - they do it for nearsightedness really well now. The younger you are the better the prospects are...
Style wise glasses can be quite an accessory - just look at Angie and other ladies on the forum.
In any case I wish you luck!

why aren't contact lenses an option? I wouldn't go the surgery route right away.

Even if your eyesight is bad, glasses don't have to be part of your out-and-about look. Sure, you'll wear them when you get up and right before you go to bed, but that isn't so bad, is it?

That's too bad about your vision. On the bright side, glasses can be fun and when you tire of them, you can always opt for contacts. They have daily disposables that almost feel like you aren't wearing anything!

I LOVE glasses and I wear them a lot but I also wear contacts. I sort of like the idea of evoking the bookish but stylish librarian. I'm a professor so I am comfortable encompassing all things nerd when I need to... but I am sorry to hear about your vision. I hope this remedies the headaches!

I am sorry, Tara, because I HATE GLASSES!! Just be sure you only wear them in the situations where you need them, otherwise your eyes will start to want them all the time. I don't know if everyone is like this but I definitely am. You might also ask about "computer" glasses in addition to driving glasses. For driving you need a full correction, but at work you focus only a few feet away, so you do not need the strongest correction.
