I never shop at Chicos!

Out with MIL from Norway who loves Chicos. Threw on my own outfit from home today in haste but loved the outfit with this crazy necklace! It's not my normal style in jewelry at all but I love it! Don't know what I should do.

You know Angie's advice about never leaving a retail stone unturned! I should remember to look at the jewelry and other accessories at stores where I'm sized out or the styles in general do not appeal. Good job!

I didn't buy the necklace! I might go back. I have been shopping like crazy and the buck has to stop somewhere, especially because as a substitute teacher, the BUCKS stop during summer!!!

Honest question: why do so many people on ylf diss Chico's? They sell a variety of styles and have done for years. What makes Chico's so much more risable than any other store?

Haven't heard anybody say they didn't like Chicos on YLF. . I just don't usually like the clothing styles for myself and the cuts have never flattered my own figure. But I love to help my MIL shop there when she's here because Chicos is her style and fits her figure great. I do really like their jewelry. It's cheap and cheerful.

Every time I ask someone or give a compliment on a great necklace, it is always from Chicos. I have a friend who loves Chico's and shops there when she can afford it. In some ways we are similar--in height, coloring, but not body build or taste. Chico's doesn't suit me and when I've tried on items, doesn't seem to fit me either.

I love this necklace on you. You know your needs and wants though. When you go back another day you might find something even better.

I like the necklace, and it's great with the tee. You do have lots of cool jewelry, though, and you have got me pining after French Kande. That would go with the tee, too, wouldn't it?
I agree that if the necklace speaks to you, just disregard that the source isn't one of your usual haunts.

It's okay to hold off, too, but now you've realuzed new sources for accessories! It's great juxtaposing.
While j have necklaces that I target for specific outfits, I like best the ones that can go with multiple tops. So if jewelry returns are ok( tags on etc), you could put if through its paces at home.

I've found some great jewelry at Chico's over the years. Their clothing is not generally my style, but my sister and a couple of my friends are big fans. No retail stone unturned! I think that necklace is fab with your outfit and would work well with your style. I hope you get it.

Haha, yeah, I think sadly Chico's has a reputation of being - dare I say - old lady clothes? But just like anywhere else (Talbots, I'm looking at you) sometimes you can find nice stuff there, you just have to open your eyes (and mind). Just goes to show Angie's saying of leave no retail stone unturned stands true. Plus, especially with jewelry/accessories, no one sees a tag anyway, and theoretically if *no one* shops there, your piece will be super unique anyway!

On a side note, isn't Chico's a sister of WHBM? I always find nice things there (decent fabrics, good cuts for me) and their jewelry is always really good, too. I think Soma is also in the brand group. Just think of it as shopping at WHBM's big sister store.

I've never shopped at Chicos, although I did go in there once. I'm not averse to their clothes / jewelry - just didn't see anything in my colors / style that day. But I would certainly pop in there again sometime to look around.

Also, fashion blogger Susan Street (fiftynotfrumpy.com) gets a lot of her clothes there - and she always looks marvelously put together.
