I need wetsuit advice...

I am a 13 year old boy at 66" tall. I was told that I should look for women's small wetsuits for my age and height. I checked the ROXY website for wetsuits and I found this youth girl's wetsuit that fits me (Link to it below). My main concern is the crotch and the legs. How will the nylon be on my legs and how would the crotch area look on me?
I was also considering ordering a size down (to size 14 from 16) because my weight, chest and waist measurements (my waist is 70cm my chest is 78cm, and my weight is 100lbs) which would be 2 inches shorter than me because I need a snug fit. Also a girl's youth wetsuit is better because it is made with less female features in mind as opposed to an adult wetsuit. I also don't mind the colour or the patterns on it.

The link you posted shows a wetsuit for a girl, not a woman. Surely if they make them for girls your age, they also make them for boys?

I don't know anything about diving suits... But the average weight and height for BOTH girls and boys at 13 is your weight and 6" shorter. It's hard for me to imagine a girl's suit, then, would fit better. I should think you really have to try it on. Check the return policy...

I've tried on a few wet suits myself and my advice is that you must absolutely try it on before buying. Sizes and proportions vary widely from brand to brand. Some brands will fit like a glove, others will be all wrong. You also have various insulation levels depending on how much you need to be protected. You don't mention if you need this for surfing during relatively warm season, say, in Australia or swimming in water during winter in northen Canada. The aspect and feel of wetsuits are different depending on how thick the material is. Thicker ones tend to be more expensive and rapidely become very, very hot to wear. Also, you are correct in looking for something that is snug. Not so snug that they squeeze your familiy jewels, you know (lol), but it has to stay close to your body all over and not float over your torso for example. If you can bring a friend or parent to the changing room with you, it's a good idea, because some of them are hard to zip up - down by yourself!

What are you wearing it for? Triathlon or open water swimming? Diving? Water skiing? Surfing? And what is your budget?

And, what Krishnidoux says about trying on. My son who does triathlons is 6 ft 4 and weighs 165 lbs and was able to get a medium tall. Many male triathletes are quite small and slender (the Browlea's from UK and Canada's own Simon Whitfield). I think you should look for a boys/mens suit and not a girl/women's.

We have had good luck with suits by 'Seventeen' and '2XU'.
