I need skirts

I was inspired by Angie's flop-proof mom outfit that included skirts with a knit top and cami/jacket. I have been looking for a casual cotton skirt and have no luck. My only caveat is I hate pleats on me as I feel they amplify my backside. Any suggestions? I would prefer to keep it around $50 but would go up to around $100 for the right skirt as I know I would get a great cost per wear.

Hi jwomack, it sounds like what you're after is an A-line skirt. Have you looked at Macy's at all? Other stores to try are Ann Taylor (and the Loft) and White House Black Market. But let us know where you've already looked so we can guide further.

I found a cute skirt at Kohl's the other day:

It has 2 pleats in front, but the back is flat. I got it in solid white at the store, but they have a couple of different prints, each in a couple of colors both online and in the stores. I also see it in black online. I did have to get one size larger that normal for a good fit.

I know Kohl's is not a popular option at YLF, but I find cute things there from time-to-time and their sales are great.

Yep, I figured an a-line would work best or something with a straight drop waist and pleats only around the lower half. I have looked at WHBM (my fave) and the Loft. I actually do well at Kohls with Vera Wang and Apt. 9 so I will check out that skirt Donna. I have to get down to Macy's. It is just hard to find the time with 3 kids and our mall is not super close. Any other options, I would love suggestions.

Thanks so much for all the links Inge. I think I can find something that will work there for me. I wish that I had an H & M near by, but we don't. The Cincinnati area where I live seems to be very behind the rest of the country in retail. We have no H & M, Nordstrom is just getting set to open in September. We just got our first Crate & Barrel a year ago. At least we have some other reliable chains like Gap, WHBM, and Macy's. It is not a total waste.
