I need a denim skirt...any suggestions?

Does anyone know of a great little, casual denim skirt? I'm thinking of just something to wear with flat boots and casual tops or ballet flats. I have NO skirts in my wardrobe at all, btw.

Old Navy has a nice one in a couple of washes. I have two of them and for $30 they aren't a bad price.

FWIW, I haven't been impressed with the quality or longevity of AT or ATL denim. It's usually thin, delicate and needs to be ironed when it comes out of the wash. Who has time for that?

I've given up on skirts, but just wanted to pass on a recommendation for one without the front zip/pocket (like the ones Kate posted). I always found that zipper to wrinkle up and show through tops. Good luck finding something!

I have had the opposite experience than modgrl with my Ann Taylor denim - it is some of my favorite. I hang dry though and then give it 10 minutes in the dryer once it is completely dry just to soften up. I bought that denim pencil skirt from Ann Taylor Loft that Kate posted and can't wait to pull it out. I was waiting for Spring, but since snow has decided to make a reappearance in Seattle and that seems a long ways away, I think I am going to work on putting it together with tights. Good luck!

I had success last year at the Gap in finding a denim skirt that wasn't too short for me (I like lengths no higher than just above the knee), and I also found a nice one at Martin + Osa, which is unfortunately no longer in existence.

I've had good luck at Target (Merona) and the Gap. I like my denim skirts dark, A-line and knee length for maximum versatility.

I live near no outlets... such a bummer. But, we do have a TJ Maxx.

I agree with the suggestions to look at Old Navy, Gap, Merona @ Target, and ATL. Also, Boden usually has some great denim skirts if your budget isn't too tight. Let's see, here's a couple:

I will let you know how it fits. I wanted something a little more grown up than a jean skirt that had the pant look and I didn't want a pencil skirt because I just wore one for the first time and ripped the seam buckling my daughter into our van....
