I like the trench ... but with the blue scarf. This is probably because I have a light-colored wool Kenneth Cole coat that I wear with a teal cashmere scarf for color by my face. So, thumbs up from me (with the scarf)!

I love the coat and adore the color which is probably no surprise. I think it looks wonderful on you. That is a really interesting beige. I am not sure what your colors are- do you look better in cooler tones? It is hard to tell in the picture. The warmth of that color really needs someone who has warmer undertones, (I think) It is because it is a lot of the color. I do not think a scarf in a contrasting or a bright color would really complement the richness and beauty of the color and texture of the coat. I would like a scarf that echoes the warmth and does not contrast with it. I think someone else mentioned that a sophisticated monochromatic look would be beautiful with this coat. If this color does not work for you I do not think a scarf will help that much. I would wear that color and many other colors that others would not, in a minute but warm tones are good for me. It is so hard to tell on a computer what the color is doing for your skintone. Do you know whether you have warm or cool undertones?

Jean, I have warm undertones: in fact this color is pretty close to the color of my skin but with higher intensity or more saturated(if it makes sense - I am not an artist:-)). Actually I wear earth tones really well like olive green, brown, burgundy, mustard yellow, rust but I wear deep colors equally well - like teal, amethyst purple, warm red, forest green. Some lighter colors are good on me too - lilac and coral in particular. I do not suit beige in general but this is very different as it does not feel dirty - if you know what I mean. It feels rich - I know, it is a strange thing to say about beige but this is how it feels.

Sveta, You have great instincts. I love this and it looks FAB on you.

I have a Khaki/beige trench that I LOVE how it fits so much the color is secondary...I just wear a black or very colorful scarf near my face:) You have made this work for you!

Sveta, I hope you keep it!!!

It is a gorgeous fit for you and the style looks very hip. I'm no good at colours on others. My instinct is that it would look better if you include other colours around your face which you are bound to do with a coat anyway.

Sveta,
Go for it- I know exactly what you mean about saturation and it is beautiful Since you can wear warm colors , it will be stunning. I would use scarves that complement and do not contrast harshly with the coat because the color is so lovely. I may be in a minority but a bright scarf is not always the answer, some things require more subtlety.

Sveta - yes, please take Jean's advice and go for it Take it out scarf shopping and see what colors sing to it. . .

Sveta, after seeing the extra pics I am even more in love with this coat on you. And I love Sara and Jeans suggestions to try tonal/complementary scarves with it as well. Looking back through your past WIWs, I think you wear softer, warmer colours really well. How about trying it with your leopard print scarf and/or tan boots and/or a deeper/shinier coloured lipstick, too?

Jean (and TickGirl, Sara and Lynne), I think you are right about the bright colors. I think that softness and vulnerability of this color is what attracted me in the first place and brights just kill it. I think that's why I was not sure when I saw the pictures (when I tried it on in the store i had a darker burgundy sweater on and it did not compete with the coat at all.)
I think I need to wear makeup with this coat but in my age I need to wear it with everything LOL.
I think the orange- cream silk scarf form the last picture works as it is not very bright and shares a similar hue with the coat. I have also tried it with my leopard scarf, purplish-pink silk scarf and sable-colored pashmina and really liked the effect. i think I will play aroud more with this coat and post more pictiures. I guess i really want to make it work for me!:-)

Thanks everybody for your help - it is really priceless!

I vote keep, it's a classic color that will go with anything. Sometimes with a colored coat, one ends up limited with outfits that "go" with it.

This is more of a minky toffee colour than soul sucking beige - don't you think?

Also, Bella hit the nail on the head - leather helps colours come alive because of the depth and texture of the fabrication.

I love the style of the leather coat. That part is a 10. But the colour is not a 10 against your complexion. I'm on Team Return

This is a tough one. The fit is beautiful and the color appeals to me--a rich, warm caramel/beige. I would tend to pair it with other warm colors, especially burgundy might look good. In winter we are all so pale, it is hard to judge. I would go with your gut.

I think it's absolutely fabulous - an instant classic.

It looks expensive, and its very neutrality makes it an excellent investment. It will be a very versatile addition to your wardrobe, which will work with whatever outfit you may wear, which can be dressed up or down, and which can be punched up with color and accessories to suit your mood ... so many options!

For what it's worth, I'm hoisting two thumbs up.
