That I am addicted to wide leg high waisted jeans. I was doing so well in the no shopping in June challenge. Yesterday I was posting that I am still shopping my closet. Well let me tell you I am a big fat failure. But oh well.

So from downtown Chicago to home there are 7 thrift stores of varying types and sizes. One of the largest is Unique Thrift in the Chicagoland area. Well there is one on the exit before the suburb I live in and I said to myself, self were just going to stop in and take a look. Well oh my goodness they were having a 50% of sale store wide. I lost my freaking mind. I stayed in that one store for 2 1/2 hours. Spent $14.75 and walked away with:

3 pair of wide leg denim high waist jeans from Ashley Stewart new with tags.

2 blouses, 1 silk tank top, 1 beautiful button up, and to head wraps.

I went home and I was in guilt heaven. I decided to count how many pairs of wide leg high waisted denim I have in my wardrobe.

Well the grand total is 15 pair to include the 3 just purchased. In my defense some of them are on there last leg but, I will be wearing them until they turn to dust.

How about you do you have anything or item you seem to always repeat?

P.S. The Salvation Army thrift is opening a location literally 3 blocks from my home. Oh my GOODNESS pray for me.

I have purchased over 300 fit and flare dresses over the course of my lifetime probably ... when we talk about problems, what about that! HAHAHAHA.

I will pray for you, ladywone:-) but OMG, I can count my banded tops, pencil skirts and shift dresses. Guilt heaven? Never heard this, but loved to find out others have it, too:-)).

Ha, I have been eyeing flares for the last few months. I understand. Put these in my cart last night then saw they were return by mail only so did not pull the trigger. I might do it anyway in the darker color once I find out how they fit so I know which size.

Ladies it is so good to know I am not alone in my struggle.

Lyn- during my lifetime I have probably had as many if not more wide leg pants my momma made my first pair in the 70's if I can find a pic later on I will post.

ah, we are dropping like flies!! But as long as the buys are good ones, and budgets aren't being demolished, there are worse things

I had to fight the urge to turn into TJMaxx last night, where most of my pre-YLF shopping was done - without a plan, without a budget, without a thought of how it worked in my overall wardrobe resulting in a lot of cheap buys that went unworn or weren't quite perfect.

My point is, it's hard to break old habits.

I know this doesn't help things bc with 15 of the same cut of pants you probably didn't NEED them, but at least you only spent $14!

well... I have 6 pairs of flare jeans medium waist, in different color and I'm not addicted, just love them, so you are fine!

Mo-Yes, we are but they are good buys. I am short and fat and loving these pants I don't need to have them tailored they fit in the waist and the leg length are great and the weight is a summer weight denim and perfect for me. Did I mention they were new with tags.

abc- I totally agree I used to go thrifting as an emotional reaction. Now it is more of I go with a specific purpose. I enjoy the thought of a score and these fit me so well in the waist and hips and are perfect for all of the outdoor festivals that are happening in and around Chicago they are perfect for me. Of course I did not need them but I have 3 pair that are biting the dust. That is my justification and I'm sticking to it lol

Rute- Thank you for the validation. I used to have about 10 pr of Guess jeans in the 90's that fit in the waist and hip in petite after all of them bit the dust. I went back for more and found they did not make them anymore. I also know how hard Jeans are to fit right off the rack. I have had alot of bottoms altered. I save money by thrift so that I can get the clothing altered to fit my shape.

Ladywone--enjoy your guilt heaven! Let those three which are on their last legs go. Then you have merely followed the one in one out rule--and you can simply be in heaven. Great finds, by the way! Congrats.

I am a sucker for bootcut jeans, they are always in my wardrobe, and I always try them on, even though I own more than I need already. Still my favorite style of jean. Plus I adore boots, especially cowboy boots, and together it's a perfect pair.

Alana in Canada- Thanks so much I will choose to let go of 3 beloved jeans after work. Yes, I say score for the plus size petite. I love Ashley Stewart but, not those prices. Maybe that is why I stock up. Hmmmm I will have to think about that.

Lisa- How could you not have one without the other it makes so much sense to me.

LACeleste- I am glad I could make you smile. Truthfully there is so much negative we all face I am not going to let my clothing purchases be a source of negative thoughts. And because I am a budget friendly person I allow myself to splurge in other areas of my life.

When I am more seasoned and now I want to travel and retire. I want to go exploring as I do now I want to take in the theater Musicals, plays, mesumes and concerts free or festivals. The first 20 years of my adulthood I lived to please others and was filled with war and difficult circumstances I want this half of my life to be fun so why not.

My weakness is boots. I have so many boots -- but I love them all, my precioussssssess. Oh, and also moto jackets of different fabrications!

My issue is with colored pencil skirts. In my mind, I rationalize that there is a difference between tomato red and dark coral. I also seem to feel that teal, jade and crayon green are different enough to be worth owning. The truth is that these tiny shade variations are probably unnoticed by anyone but me. I have about 20 pencil skirts and that is after a huge purge

Cciele- ok I hear you on the boots, I have an obscene number of them. I live in Chicago and have fussy large feet that is how I justify them.

Suja-I agree with the shade variation. I am the type of person that would notice. My guess is 90% of the people that I know would not notice or care that is why I'm at YLF.

Lol, Ladywone. Let me talk about my issues: First off, there's the red and blue plaid shirts, always the red and blue plaid shirts. Next come the long-sleeved tissue tees, the constant nagging feeling that I need another one. After that are the black denim jeans. I don't even wear jeans. I gave them all away. So why do I have five pairs of black denim jeans sitting on the pants shelf? Where did they come from?!! How did they get there?!!

Wait. Let me get this straight. You spent a grand total of $14.75 and got NINE items, including three pairs of new with tags jeans and are feeling GUILTY about this?! And you had a great time doing it. How horrible. Your penance is...wear them and enjoy!

Amiable-oh my I love the "good" they have end of season stock from the higher end stores nearest one to me is 2hrs. But, the Salvation thrift 3 blocks will be my breaking point. No matter which way I drive I have to pass it coming home from work. I might as well live there.

Suz-thank you when I get home I will get rid if three pair to equal out. And it will just be heaven.

Windchime- yes, I still think I have the receipt. I'll take pictures of everything tonight but I took the tags off because I wash everything when I get home. I know, I know, it is a gift but, that is my problem I Aalways seem to good luck at thrift stores.
