...I am officially lusting after a pair of cage heels as I mentioned in another recent thread that started as a question about KC Cedar cities and ended up being about Sofft Vanessa's!

Now I think I have a new obession: Sofft Rachelles!

Has anyone seen them or tried them on? The reviews on nordstrom.com seem to be pretty universally positive.

Am I nuts to consider this? I just don't do heels, but I would give it a try for these babies! Is it ridiculous to think I need a pair of "fierce" shoes now that I'm an "independent single gal in Melbourne" ahaha.

And pewter or black, your opinions please! (I like the fact the pewter has silver hardware wheras black has gold).

Tam- I think those would be great on you! I cannot wear heels for any length of time- I get a backache. I would try them and I vote black because of your hair.

Ooh a vote from Jean....yes!!! I am slowly but surely becoming obsessed. I just really like the way they look a bit tough, I think I'm more likely to wear them than something too feminine!!

Do you get around on foot Tam? I can handle 3" heels for around 2 hours IF they are phenomenally comfy, well padded, and buttery soft with a stable heel and I get a brief rest (on the subway for example). But there is never an occasion where that is practical for me and in my entire shoe shopping experience, I have only ever found 2 pairs that are orphans in my closet since I'm always at least a 5 hour walker. After 3", I deteriorate within minutes if not seconds, platform or no platform.

I don't oppose either of these pretty shoes, but you need to be realistic about how you will wear them.

Maya I wouldn't wear these for getting around in at all. These would strictly be for bars/nights out/god forbid any "dates" I might go on should such a thing ever happen! I agree they're totally unpractical, but they are pretty.

I have a tram stop about 50m from my house, and as long as whereever I'm going isn't too far from the tram stop, as long as I can balance in them after a few drinks I think I could just about pull them off!

I can't think about even wearing a kitten heel at work (imagine scrubs with heels hehe), so maybe I have an inner diva somewhere trying to break out every once in a while!!

I'm in shoe love with the Rachelle as well!

I tried the Vanessa's on last week. I found the straps to be stiff, in contrast to what it says in the ylf store. Thought with some wear I'm sure they'd soften.

For me, the price of the Rachelle is high for shoes if I didn't "do heels".

Tam, I live in flats and Converse. Lately, I've been drawn to "fierce" shoes, too. I got a pair (they're Sofft), but I keep finding others that I want. I've had to stop myself, because I don't have enough occasions to wear them.

I think every woman deserves at least one pair of "fierce" shoes. Go for it. You'll have them when you need them. :o)

I'd go for them then (although which ones, I don't know--they are both pretty). It sounds like you have reasonable expectations and as Boof said, every gal needs some fierce shoes. Even fussy footed me went ahead and got some 3" studded wedges (3" being very high for my wussy feet).

Maya I'm glad to hear you have at least one pair of crazy shoes. Can you believe the craziest pair I have at the moment are Me Too sunsets? Yes I know other people wear them as everyday shoes but for me they are sky-high

In my opinion you can't go wrong with any of the three colors (the sand color would meet two of my current shoe cravings right now.) Out of the black and pewter, I prefer the pewter.

Ooh, a date shoe for sure! If you like/wear silver more, go for the pewter -- it is not that much lighter than the black (at least on my monitor).

That's a beautiful shoe, Tam! I personally found the Softt Vanessa's more comfortable which is what I popped those into the store instead. But them I *do* have extremely fussy feet.

Ok so JuliJuli sent me pics of hers and I am officially convinced. The pewter is a beautiful dark colour and looks great. I'm going to order them as soon as my tax is processed! I just hope I can stand in them!!!
