I look like a Christmas decoration.

First: happy St. Patrick's day to everyone!

Being of vaguely Irish descent, I am naturally wearing the green today. I dug out my lone kelly green top last night (it was buried with the summer stuff) and put it on this morning in the dark. I don't check the full-length mirror on the mornings I go to school because I have to get dressed before my husband is awake. Anyway, when I went to the public restroom later on, I made the unhappy discovery that I look like a Christmas tree ornament. Kelly green tee + red hair = not good. (When I say red, I don't mean a lovely, natural-looking ginger -- which, by the way, I think looks smashing with green. It's actually brown, but with lots of bright scarlet stripes all through the front).

Still, it's kind of funny. Would this bother you? Can you wear bright green and bright red without thinking of Christmas?

I don't think I've tried it for awhile (maybe a red shirt with olive pants?). I think if there was a third strong color added it might break the 'Christmas curse' Like adding a pink or turquoise, definitely not Christmasy Or toning the colors a lot, so a burgundy red and a pale green for example.

I want to wear orange and black together, but I'm wondering if there is a Halloween curse too...

I had a darling little red and dark apple green plaid skirt suit but had to get rid of it after hearing how I looked just like Christmas. My friend says to throw some mustard into the mix.

It would remind me of Christmas, but that wouldn't bother me. I recently paired red and blue, which reminded me of a superhero. I think bold bright colors are fun paired together.
