I know it's a little bit lumberjack, but I have to share

I know this won't be to everyone's taste, but here goes.
Last year I bought the slouchy cowboy boots in the last photo. They are my favorite shoes to dress up, dress down, whatever. I have very strong phases sometimes They are too warm for summer though, and also I don't want to wear them out. Today I snapped up these perforated ankle boots and I am so thrilled with them! I know they won't be to everyone's taste, but somehow this is rocking my style thermometer at the moment. I would wear these over skinnies, under bootcuts, with skirts, and shorts. For example I would substitute them for the sneakers in the "Am I a student?" outfit. DH is skeptical and says the leather is "too smooth". The leather is actually very soft and will acquire a worn-in look quickly, I think.

I was so excited I just threw them on with what I happened to be wearing to snap these pics. I would probably wear more light and muted colors with these boots than what is shown here. I am contemplating if I need a matching belt.

By the way, I put my new driver license into action today and did some driving to get used to the traffic rules here. I am on a high of independence At Heather, if you are out there, I liked your comment to drive it like I stole it! but this really struck fear in the heart of DH. I have know idea why

Actually the side view reminds me a little of a Disney character from some cartoon (Dumbo maybe?)--a bird wearing big boots gaping around his bird legs, but somehow this feels au courant and right to me.

I am afraid they would not flap around my legs
Unfortunately I cannot find any summer boots in my size at all...

As far as my comment (hhahaha!): I feel there is a 'speed suggestion' in Europe. Every time I have rented a car in Europe, I feel so many drivers have the pedal to the metal. ;D But that is here in the US, too.....Again, I am very proud you passed your driver's test. Be safe. <3

Needless to say, I looooooove this look! Love summer boots, especially with shorts and skirts/dresses! I used to wear biker boots with shorts and dresses, a few, uh, years back...I would wear boots with shorts and dresses/skirts now, but I'm stymied re. the color of boot to pick (don't care for light-colored boots, and I wear lots of black in the summer but don't think I'm going to do black summer boots...). Anyway, enough about me--you look wonderful in this look!

Don't worry, Heather, I am a defensive driver Darn right about the crazy speeding. The speed suggestion on the Autobahn is 80 mph! Not a limit, mind you, suggestion. I plan to stay out of the left lane until I am reaaaal comfortable.

Jonesy-- I don't see why not black for you. I can picture it looking good, although it seems to me you are usually wearing a more sophisticated shoe than Mrs. Slouch over here.

Are you in Germany, Scarlet? I remember from when I lived there that that is not an easy driving test to take. Congratulations on passing it!

A few words of advice - make sure that you have good tires and that they are "rated" for higher speeds. Also, smart thinking about staying out of the left lane. The cars come up from behind you like a shot!
