But I came across this blouse. I had been looking for a sleeveless, white blouse all spring long. Everything I found was too sheer to suit my purposes (and I actually didn't find that many in the first place).

This might turn out to be too sheer as well, but no one said that in the comment section so I decided to take a chance.

I feel in love with the print of the second blouse, but I am not going to buy it because it doesn't really fit into my color scheme. What resolve I showed!!!

I wonder. Spring / summer is your dominant season, no?

If I were in your position, I might be buying like crazy at the Nordstrom summer designer sales. Because those items will have staying power into the next year (they represent the fresh trends) and you can get high quality for a lower price point.

Of course I'd save something for NAS, too. You do, after all, have some autumn/ winter...and some of the NAS items are actually (from my frigid north perspective) more suited to summer temperatures anyway (talking about my summer, not yours, lol!)

I also think the top you are considering is perfect and a highly justifiable purchase because it would look lovely on its own (summer) or under a jacket (fall/ winter.)

I bought the NYDJ top in red and apples. Love it! LMK if the white is sheer. That would be a HEWI if it isn't.

Sterling, I was thinking the same thing as Suz. For a place with weather like yours, the white top is almost an all year-round thing whereas many of the NAS items won't be suitable for your climate or will have very limited wear.

Living in a warm climate - I find I can never have too many cool white tops/shirts. I hope this one works out as you probably won't find something similar in NAS.

You women are so BRILLIANT. Yes. I do adore Deep Winter clothes, but I should be shopping for Summer. I am trying to re-adjust my thinking and my buying strategy to be realistic. That top is one major step in the right direction.

I'll still shop NAS along with everyone else. I'll just constantly remind myself to be realistic.

Sterling, if that top does not work out, there is a silk one in a similar style for ~125 in the NAS catalogue, page 53, in the itemized part, you will not see it in the main one. Go to Nordstroms.com, search box, anniversary, look for the catalogue and the pages are there. It's easier to see the itemized things on the app. Check it out if you are interested, I think it can work for your weather.

I have 3 of those sleeveless NYDJ tops and they are great. I don't buy the prints or colors that don't go with my self-imposed color palette, though. You're right to save your $ for the perfect things, not the things that don't quite work and end up not being worn.

I think they are both lovely. The print would look great with your white jeans. I see this as a stand alone summer piece so as long as it goes with two bottoms I think you would be fine. I don't think black would be as good with it. I have a print blouse of a very similar shape and I wore it a lot with cropped pants and sandals over summer.
