I just measured another dress to see where the length (33 in) would fall, and its about an inch to an inch and a half too short for me to wear it comfortably. The listing said the hem had been taken up. Ah well.

Tricia, I have a dress almost exactly like this - the only difference is that it buttons all the way down the front and is a little less va-voom... I'll post a photo - it was a thrifted find (it's "All That Jazz" from the 80s) and I don't wear it that often - but you'll get a sense of the look.

I really like that! Why not? The leggings/boots/scarf can make it more casual if that is what you are worried about! I would wear it in a heartbeat!

I emailed the seller and she said there's about an inch of fabric that could be let out at the hem. I don't think I really NEED yet another black dress, though...

I'm going to a big antique fair/flea market tomorrow and hope to see some clothes there, so maybe if I don't find anything I'll come back and buy this.
