So first is the doen shirt. I think i'll sell as it is too late to send back. I don't feel great in it.

The next two are sezane and I like the top, so i'll probably get it in navy and the same size too. I probably won't wear the rosewood top with the rosewood pants as its a bit too pink for me and not enough navy haha.

The last one is the one I need advice on. The rosewood trousers. Its actually the exact same size as the previous pair but obviously a different style and maybe its a bit big this time...what do you think? The length just works, its around 32-33" and I think I need 34 but slightly shorter I can work with.

You know i'm still not sure...i'm leaning to the side of return because I think the rise is too short.

I'm not expert. I like everything. If you are comparing the trousers, I think i like the darker ones as the cropped hemline looks good on you. I'd be interested to see what some others more wiser think.

Oh the darker ones are my own, they are from cos years ago. Not bad quality but they aren't my favourite but they aren't bad either. The new things are the shirt paired with the darker trousers and both the pink top and bottom.

I agree about the shirt not being that great. I like the pink top.
The pink pants I do like, but I think you may be correct about the rise... I wouldn’t have noticed if you hadn’t said. Since you say you hope to keep clothes 10 years if you can, they must both feel and look good to you I think. If I saw you in the street in those pants, I would think they looked great.

I like the pink top and the pants. I think the pants look perfect. BUT I am a dedicated mid & low-riser when it comes to pants (and shorts, and skirts...)
I like the proportions they give.

I think the Doen shirt is too big for your frame, maybe try to size it down? Also, have you tried it semi tuck or front knotted?

The pink Sezane top is a fab and the colour is great on you!

The pink trousers are good and may be look even better without the pleats - it's an easy fix for a seamstress.

I like the length on the trousers, but they do seem big on you to me. I agree the first top isn’t right - too much cloth for your frame - but one thing about it I DO like is that below the collar bone open neckline.

I agree on that first top - that color and cut are not optimal for you. The pink trousers...there is some kind of fit issue around the crotch and front rise, but I'm not well versed enough to diagnose what it is.

I will say this: I just purchased a very similar style, and I should have sized down. They fit great at first but loosened up as I wore them and now are definitely loose around the hips/bum, which is where I want a nice, structured fit in a pair of pants like that.

The Doen shirt has a drop shoulder, thus the volume. What about trying it unbuttoned over a tank and slim pants?

I like the first shirt, but I don’t like it tucked, I’d like to see it semi tucked or sort of “fluffed” up at the waist...
love the pink top..fun color and the fit looks good. Is it more of a sweater weight or a knit top weight (asking for a friend)
Re the pants, I’m not an expert, but i think they are sitting to low. I think the belted part should sit at, or at least closer, to your natural waist.

That pink top looks so lovely on you!
i like the first shirt, maybe you should try to style it with white pants/shorts/skirt. It fades somehow against the darker bottoms.

I’m not crazy about how voluminous that first top is on you, so I agree on the return. I also think the fit on the rose pants is not quite right — too roomy for your slim hips maybe? And they do seem to sit low. I think I’d keep looking if I were you. You have an enviable shape and I don’t think these pieces do you justice.

Have you tried the sit-down-test in the rose pants to check whether the rise is in fact too short? I really like them! But they have fit correctly. Is the belt on your natural waist?

I like the first shirt (very in keeping with that Doen sensibility of loose, blousey, "poet" tops); maybe try rolling the sleeves and semi-tucking? Seems like a casual, summery top to me, to be paired with a pair of jeans or casual trousers. Or it would look swell under a tailored piece like a waistcoat.

The short-sleeved pink shirt seems like a good summer top. The pants seem like they have fit issues? Even on the model there is that V-shaped gathered thing happening at the crotch point, which just looks off to my eye. More generally, I wonder about the style of these pants in terms of your wardrobe goals? From what I had seen, you were interested in elevated classics in navy and dark burgundy, and these pants seem very 80s to me--the pleats, high waist, and self belt--and appear to be dusty pink corduroy? So I wonder if they would serve you well in your wardrobe and be versatile enough for you.

I can't tell the difference between the two sizes of pants - I like this style on you. As Angie said, try sitting, bending, etc.

Also, I do like the all-rose outfit - the column of color is flattering.
Based on this post, and the one you did with the skinny light color pants (I think you tried them on with a very dark top), I'd say that high contrast outfits are not so flattering, especially with tucked-in tops.

I agree that the rose top is the easiest to say keep. I like the pants but perhaps a higher waist would be even better. I like the old COS culottes on you a lot.

I love the shirt in photos 1 & 2. I think it is meant to be oversized - that's how I like them anyway. I wear my similar ones untucked over pegged pencil skirts and slightly narrowed pants that hit the top of my foot. I need my proportions to be 2:3 - whether the top or bottom is 2/5 of my ensemble is irrelevant as long as I have that ratio. I hope this makes sense and I hope you work out how to wear your shirt in a way that makes you happy with the look.

I actually quite love the blouse and like the idea of styling it a few different ways - perhaps with a slim fit bottom.

I love the shirt, and think it evokes a variety of styles, from plucky girl reporter (with a vest) or newsie (a cap or smart narrow belt and high tops ) or Gibson Girl (with your hair loosely up and fitted skirt). But if those descriptions make you roll your eyes, ignore me.

I decided to send the pink trousers back. I'll give the doen shirt another try with a pair of jeans when I finally find a pair that fit right. If still not a yes for me, i'll sell on ebay. I think if its not a "wow yes" for me, it probably should be a no, and i'm just not 100% sure about the trousers and i'll probably feel self conscious in them. On to the next pair!

I’m glad that Angie has helped you with the fit of the pants, they looked great, but you should not settle for anything that does not fit well or at least could not be altered to fit well. The rose top is gorgeous on you. I too like the shirt, but then I am a fan of big sleeves on summer shirts. I am sure if you persevere you will find exactly what you are looking for.
